Former Kentucky star and current Washington Wizards point guard John Wall was named the winner of the NBA’s Community Assist Award. For his prize, Wall receives a $25,000 donation to a charity of his choice.
According to a release, Wall will put the $25,000 towards his personal charity, the John Wall Foundation, and allocate the money towards the building of a new playground in Washington, D.C. He’ll also match the donation with his own money and give those funds to a charity in his hometown of Raleigh, N.C.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari recognized Wall’s accomplishment on Twitter, and also predicted Anthony Davis, another former Wildcat, will win the Community Assist Award soon. Davis was one of the finalists for this year’s honor.
So proud of John, the ultimate servant leader. He’s not the only one though. My guess is Anthony will win it soon. https://t.co/NdXDczHpxA

Not too bad for a couple of one-and-done’s, huh?
