There is a bona fide sweepstakes going on in the recruitment of five-star small forward Zion Williamson.
Williamson, who hails from Spartanburg (S.C.) Day School, is the No. 2 recruit in the 2018 class. You’ve probably seen his prodigious dunking mixtapes.
While it is unlikely Williamson will commit anywhere anytime soon, one school appears to be trending for his services: Kentucky.
Just today, two Kentucky recruiting analysts Crystal Ball’d Williamson to UK on the same day Wildcat assistant Joel Justus will watch the burly 6-foot-7 left-hander.
What to make of this? Nothing concrete for now, but it shouldn’t shock anyone that Kentucky is right in the thick of things for Williamson.
It has been a busy month for Williamson, who also received visits from North Carolina head coach Roy Williams, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski, Kansas head coach Bill Self, Clemson head coach Brad Brownell and South Carolina head coach Frank Martin.
