Kentucky football fans – change is coming. Junior quarterback Jalen Whitlow, who started eight games last year for the Wildcats, will be transferring from the university. According to reports, head coach Mark Stoops asked Whitlow if he’d be open to playing another position on the team. Whitlow did not agree.
Stoops met with Whitlow last night and asked him if he would be open to a position switch and Whitlow decided to play QB somewhere else.

Stoops released a statement via a press release Wednesday morning.
“We respect Jalen and his decision as we want the best for him. I want everyone to understand how hard he has worked and the effort he has given since our staff has been here.”
In his final season at UK, Whitlow completed 98-of-159 attempts, throwing for 1,033 passing yards, five touchdowns and five interceptions. His departure leaves Kentucky with four quarterbacks on the roster – Drew Barker, Maxwell Smith, Reese Phillips and Patrick Towles.
