The ESPN college football analyst explained what he meant by what he said.
Kirk Herbstreit took a bit of a shot at Kentucky’s football program today.
The ESPN college football analyst called the Wildcats’ football team an “appetizer” for Big Blue Nation during a luncheon in Louisville, Ky. today.
He’s right, of course. Kentucky’s fan base obviously cares a ton more about its basketball team than it does about its football team.
Still, Herbstreit received some backlash from fans. He took to Twitter to explain what he meant.
Just surprised that cheap shot came from Herbstreit – friend of Stoops and (had been) supportive of UK football.

Wasn't referring to how I see UK football was referencing how SOME UK fans view it although Marks doing a great job of changing that view. https://t.co/G4BuBQBUwf

What he said is definitely fair.
