Les Miles announced Thursday that Danny Etling would be getting the start for LSU football over Brandon Harris for Saturday’s game against Mississippi.
According to The Score, Etling will be taking over the reins for LSU football and an offense that has struggled to gain yards through the air season.
Averaging just 129 passing yards per game and ranking 121st in the country, there appears to be nowhere to go but up for an offense that has looked anemic thus far.
It’s difficult to predict what will happen this week versus Mississippi State. Etling wasn’t phenomenal last week against Jacksonville State, going 6-of-14, but he did he manage to get the offense moving, throwing for 100 yards and a touchdown.
Fortunately for Tigers fans, Leonard Fournette is expected to start per Yahoo Sports, with Miles saying it is “full speed ahead” for the Heisman hopeful, and this should open up the passing game quite a bit if he returns.
The Tigers are looking to improve to 2-1 in their SEC opener this Saturday.
