In the past week, women’s college basketball teams have taken marketing and promotions to a whole new, awesome level. Last week, Kansas State decided to give away free bacon to students who attended the Wildcats season opener against Tennessee State. That giveaway sparked some interest, but you know what college kids like even more than bacon? Beer.
Louisville women’s basketball head coach Jeff Walz decided that Thursday he’s going to buy the first 2500 beers at the KFC Yum! Center (for people of age of course) for fans who attend the Cardinals’ game against LSU:
Jeff Walz says he’s buying the first 2,500 beers for U of L fans Thursday night. Beers and black jerseys. I’m sayin’ though.

U of L women will have $2 beer night on Thursday vs. LSU, and Jeff Walz will pay for the first 2,500 beers. Nice deal.

I have to hand it to Walz and Louisville — this is a totally awesome promotion.
