Another day, another quarterback from the SEC is transferring. The QB position in the country’s best league has been in flux all off-season, between players entering and leaving the conference, and the departure of stalwarts like Johnny Manziel, Aaron Murray, A.J. McCarron, and Zach Mettenberger.
The latest move is from Mettenberger’s alma mater, LSU. Freshman Hayden Rettig, once a four-star commit from Los Angeles, is the second quarterback to leave Baton Rouge, after Stephen Rivers announced his move in February.
While there are no concrete possible destinations for Rettig, Saturday Down South sees one distinct possibility:
Although Rettig confirmed no possible destinations, one is Boston College, where his brother was a three-year starter.
Rettig had a Boston College offer out of high school, as well as Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Miami, UCLA, Auburn, Vanderbilt, and numerous other programs.
