Story: Florida convincingly defeated Missouri on Saturday in a game that was never even close. The Gators jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first 64 seconds and never looked back. Forward Erik Murphy led the way with 15 points and guard Scottie Wilbekin recorded a double-double. Florida’s leading scoring Kenny Boyton added 14 points.
The Tigers had a forgettable performance. They started out flat and never came close to recovering from an early deficit. Jabari Brown scored 16 points on 5-for-18 from the field. Phil Pressey had 10 turnovers and had one of his worst games in a Mizzou uniform. This game showed how badly the Tigers miss forward Laurence Bowers, who remained out of the lineup with a knee injury.
Mizzou has an important week upcoming with home games against unranked South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
