According to Mike Colombo of KMOV, Missouri star wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham was arrested early Saturday morning on “drug charges”, but released by the police a few hours later. Green-Beckham was booked and held at the Greene County Jail in Springfield, Missouri.

“(The release) probably means he wasn’t involved with what they thought he was involved in,” Wilcox said in a phone call from the Greene County Jail.
SBNation’s Adam Jacobi claims that the classification of alleged crime, “distribution, delivery or manufacture of a controlled substance” is considered a felony. Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch says that the investigation is “ongoing”.
Springfield police confirms arrest was made but says it’s an ongoing investigation and declines comment on any details.

Green-Beckham led the Tigers with 59 catches and 12 touchdowns in 2013. His 883 receiving yards were second to only L’Damian Washington. He was widely considered the No. 1 overall college football prospect of the 2012 class.
