The South Carolina basketball squad experienced a tremendous team moment today.
Earlier, South Carolina head coach Frank Martin gathered his team together to inform them that senior guard Sindarius Thornwell had been named SEC Player of the Year.
Thornwell’s teammates mob him. It’s great.

The 6-foot-5 Lancaster, S.C. native is a deserving recipient of the honor. Thornwell averaged 21.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game during the regular season.
South Carolina is the No. 4 seed in the 2017 SEC Tournament. The Gamecocks have a bye until the quarterfinals on Friday, where they will meet either Alabama, LSU or Mississippi State.
