With the departure of athletic director Bill Moos to Nebraska, it has seemed like a strong possibility that Washington State head coach Mike Leach could head elsewhere after a very successful six-year stint with the Cougars.

According to the report, Leach could be offered the job, and would probably accept.
While we have heard from sources throughout the week that Currie feels comfortable with Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano if he needs to go there, the buzz in the profession the past 24 hours has been that Mike Leach seems to have a very good shot at being offered the position.
The expectation from those we’ve spoken with is that Leach would accept the position if offered.
FootballScoop goes on to report that Wazzu defensive coordinator Alex Grinch would probably be promoted to head coach. He has engineered a very strong turnaround with the Cougs’ defense, and was mentioned as a potential candidate at Oregon State. The Beavers will reportedly hire Cal offensive coordinator Beau Baldwin.
