On the same day he was named in Yahoo! Sports’ report as one of five SEC players who allegedly received improper benefits, Tennessee defensive tackle Maurice Couch has been declared out for this Saturday’s game against Oregon due to “heat exhaustion”. Evan Woodbery of the Knoxville News Sentinel tweeted out the news, via coach Butch Jones.
Butch Jones says Mo Couch won’t play on Saturday due to heat exhaustion he suffered on Tuesday.

Coincidence? Probably. But considering the fact that Tennessee now has to do some digging of its own to determine whether Couch can remain eligible, it’s also possible that this is a facade. We’ll find out eventually – heat exhaustion can’t keep a player out all season.
