Former Texas A&M offensive tackle Jake Matthews has something going for him that most don’t ahead of this year’s NFL Draft – family legacy. Matthews is set to become the seventh member of the Matthews family to play in the NFL and should become the third to make a current roster, considering his cousins, Clay and Casey, play for the Packers and Eagles, respectively.
Today, Jake took to Twitter to show some support for the potential first-rounder, claiming that any team that passed on Jake would regret it. Strangely, he then deleted it.
The irony here, of course, would be if the Bears drafted him and the two had to square off twice per year. It’s a long shot though – the Bears have the 14th pick, and Matthews should be gone by then.
