Johnny Manziel’s attorney is confident that we’ll be seeing the Texas A&M quarterback on the field this season – from day one.
Jim Darnell, recently hired by the Manziel family, told USA TODAY Sports that he believes his client won’t miss any time this season. Manziel is currently under investigation by the NCAA for potentially profiting off of autographs earlier this year.
“I can’t say much,” Darnell told USA TODAY Sports, “other than we’re working through the process. He’s cooperating with the investigation. We think when all this comes out on the other end, he’ll be the starting quarterback for the Aggies against Rice.”
Rice, of course, is the Aggies’ first opponent in the 2013 campaign.
While Darnell’s words are encouraging for Manziel supporters, it should be noted that he is being paid by the Manziel family – meaning it’d be odd if he didn’t speak confidently about his client’s situation. We’ll keep you updated on Johnny Football’s status.
