ESPNU has been breaking down today’s recruiting excitement all afternoon, and the analysis hasn’t come without a strong take or two. Analyst Kirk Herbstreit hopped on with the Signing Day Special team to discuss Texas A&M, and had some really interesting comments about the Aggies’ future without quarterback Johnny Manziel. Specifically, he thinks that the team may improve without the distractions and media circus that Manziel brings.
There’s a chance that A&M improves this season, but it is likely because the team’s weak defense is bound to get better. Replacing Johnny Manziel, with or without any perceived distractions, will likely prove to be incredibly difficult.
