During this Monday’s preseason game against the New York Knicks, a rumor surfaced about James lecturing 76ers star Joel Embiid for showing up late to practice. Obviously that doesn’t sound good considering James and Embiid are supposed to lead Philadelphia this year.

“Somebody told me before the game that they were out ready to practice, and Joel Embiid walked out on the court a couple minutes late and LeBron let him hear it,” ESPN announcer Mike Breen said.

Well, it sounds like Breen may have received false information. On Tuesday night, James fired back at this rumor on his Instagram story.

“He ain’t been late so stop the lies,” James wrote.

High expectations in Philly.

Now that James is surrounded by a supporting cast that includes Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, fans will be expecting him to make at least the Eastern Conference Finals this upcoming season. Even he’s expecting a deep run in the playoffs.

“I didn’t leave my family to lose in the second round,” James told the media in Philadelphia.

If James manages to lead the 76ers to their first title since 1983, it would strengthen his argument as the greatest of all time.

Even though Langley released her first studio album in 2024, it wasn’t until this year that she became a household name. Her song “Choosin’ Texas” led her to the top of the US Hot 100 and Country Airplay charts.

“It made its way into ‘Today’s Top Hits,’ which is our biggest global flagship playlist, but it’s also showing up in ‘Mood’ and ‘Moments’ playlists because it fits so well in ‘driving’ or ‘chill’ or ‘cookout,’” Claire Heinichen of Spotify said, via ABC. “It really can work everywhere.”

Langley’s popularity has become so undeniable that she’s going viral almost every week.

Earlier this week, Langley shared a handful of photos on Instagram along with the caption: “Not enough in the world.” It didn’t take long for her swimsuit selfie to cause a stir online.

“Ella freaking Langley… she’s unreal,” one fan commented.

“Choosin’ Texas for sure,” a second fan replied.

“She’s a queen,” another fan wrote.

If we had to guess, it won’t be long before Langley returns to the spotlight.

After all, Langley has concerts scheduled in Oklahoma, Texas and California over the next week.

Earlier this week, the SEC confirmed that it’s monitoring Tropical Depression Nine. This tropical system developing in the Gulf could bring damaging weather to several southern states, including Alabama.

“The idea of moving the game, it’s on the table. I’m saying it’s clearly on the table. It would be a nightmare for everybody involved,” meteorologist James Spann told AL.com.  “But if we do get a Category 1, Category 2 hurricane coming right up Mobile Bay Saturday morning, I don’t know if you wouldn’t be playing that game in Tuscaloosa that you’ve got the chance of winds gusting to 50 miles an hour, torrential rain and the chance of isolated tornadoes on top of everything else.”

On Tuesday night, Alabama tried to ease any concerns regarding this weekend’s game.

“Alabama athletics is closely monitoring the weather forecast ahead of Saturday’s football game vs. Georgia,” the school said. “At this time, there are no plans to alter the contest. We will continue to observe conditions throughout the week and remain in communication with the Southeastern Conference office, as needed. Fans are encouraged to rely on official Alabama athletics and SEC channels for the latest information regarding Saturday’s game.”

We’ll continue to monitor this game.

There’s so much at stake this weekend for Georgia and Alabama, as a win for either side would really boost their résumé for the College Football Playoff.

Since this is by far the best matchup on paper, ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be in Tuscaloosa to preview both programs. Obviously, those plans will change if this game gets postponed.

Hopefully, the weather holds up this weekend and we get to see these powerhouse teams battle it out at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Hill’s estranged wife, Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill, said he started getting violent with her back in January 2024. Not only did she accuse him of punching her in the stomach while she was pregnant with their child, she also accused him of spitting on her.

“Keeta previously accused Tyreek of punching her in the stomach while she was pregnant with their child, also of him spitting on her, pulling out her hair, violently twisting her breasts, locking her out of her home, physically restraining her, and threatening her life. Tyreek denied wrongdoing and claims that any actions were done in self-defense,” TMZ reported. “She said there is a nanny cam video that shows Tyreek’s violence towards her and her mother, which she claims his team tried to buy for several hundred thousand dollars.”

Lakeeta Vaccaro Hill’s civil trial against her husband started this Tuesday in Miami. She described the incident in July 2024 where the speedy wide receiver allegedly tried to punch her stomach and said he didn’t want to keep their baby.

After hearing more about these abuse allegations this week, NFL fans are calling for the league to discipline Hill.

“He should never play nother down of football ever again,” one fan declared.

“It’s the NFL so I’m sure somebody will sign him. League has no morals what so ever when it comes to stuff like this,” a second fan wrote.

“If a team like the @Chiefs believes he’ll help them win games, they’ll sign him,” a third fan commented. “Erosion of talent outweighs criminal behavior in the @NFL when it comes to contracts. Always has, always will be.”

“Ban Tyreek Hill,” another fan declared.

Will Tyreek Hill get another shot?

When healthy, Hill is one of the best playmakers in the NFL. He has hauled in 819 passes for 11,363 yards and 83 touchdowns in his career.

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that his client is expected to sign with a new team “over the next few days.” The Kansas City Chiefs have been mentioned as a potential suitor.

The Chiefs could use another wideout after losing Tyquan Thornton to a serious injury. Are they willing to take a chance on Hill though? Only time will tell.

Brewer, 29, has already competed in the Saleen S1 Cup, the IndyPro 2000 series, the W Series and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America division. She nearly led 47Motorsports to a championship before placing second.

“Finishing 2nd in the championship, just 2 points away, definitely stings a little but standing on the top step for our final race was the perfect way to close out the season,” Brewer said. “Couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come and everything we’ve accomplished together.”

Although she’s know for her skills behind the wheel, Brewer has become quite popular on social media.

Brewer, who has over 2.7 million Instagram followers, went viral this week for sharing a swimsuit photo while in Orange County, California.

While her popularity is undeniable, Brewer has dealt with some unfair criticism online.

“When I first got back into the sport, it really bothered me and the comments would bother me,” Brewer told the New York Post. “I was like, ‘Ugh, I’m not just an influencer, I’m also a race car driver. I’ve been racing since I was 11.’ I grew a big chunk of my following when I wasn’t racing, so once I started to race again, they were like, ‘This influencer’s pretending to be a race car driver,’ and I’m like, ‘No.’ But then I realized everyone is going to have their opinion whether it’s right or wrong, and you can’t control how other people perceive you, they’re going to have their opinion no matter what, so I’ve really tried to get past it.”

Judging by her recent post, Brewer won’t let her critics influence what she shares on social media.

Jackson, who has one year remaining on his current deal with the Ravens, suffered an ankle sprain during this past Sunday’s win over the Tennessee Titans. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, this ankle injury could end up costing Jackson multiple games depending on how his rehab goes. However, it’s not expected to be a long-term issue that’ll require surgery.

“[Ravens head coach Jesse] Minter acknowledged Monday that he was uncertain whether Jackson would play in Week 5, saying the organization was still “gathering information” on the franchise quarterback’s ankle,” ESPN reported. “Minter added that he does not expect Jackson to be sidelined for an extended period, saying he doesn’t ‘think it’s going to be crazy long term, but we’ll see what happens.'”

Fox Sports personality Nick Wright isn’t so sure Jackson will be back on the field as soon as possible.

During this Tuesday’s episode of “First Things First,” Wright pointed out how Jackson’s past injuries featured bizarre recovery timelines. Now factor in Jackson’s uncertain contract situation, and Wright is worried the Ravens may be without the face of the franchise for a while.

“This is where Lamar’s own history on injury recovery is ominous,” Wright said. “We don’t know if this is a Harbaugh thing, how Lamar communicates thing or Lamar’s comfortability playing when he’s not 100 percent. One of the criticisms of him is he’s not always communicating with the organization. I think the lack of an agent hurts him in this regard as someone filtering messages for him. You mentioned the contract thing. Lamar Jackson is essentially in a contract year. He has no guaranteed money on his contract after this year.”

What happens if Lamar misses time?

Tyler “Snoop” Huntley is currently on track to start against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday night. He received extended playing time for Baltimore in 2021, throwing for 1,081 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions.

Since the 2019 season, the Ravens are 6-11 when Jackson isn’t in the lineup. Their offense has averaged just 17.6 points per game during that stretch.

Hopefully, the Ravens have good news to share on Jackson’s injury in the coming days.

ESPN announced Tuesday that its Week 5 episode of “College GameDay” averaged 2.9 million viewers, making it the most-watched episode this season and the most-watched October episode in the program’s history. Additionally, the network revealed that its viewership this season is up 6% from its 2025 average.

While an average audience of 2.9 million is awfully impressive, that doesn’t compare to the show’s peak audience.

It turns out 3.7 million viewers watched the final four of “College GameDay” last Saturday. Clearly, fans wanted to see Clark as the celebrity guest picker in Iowa.

Did Caitlin Clark prove herself as a college football analyst?

Clark promised viewers she was going to go 10-0 with her picks this past Saturday, but she learned that it’s not easy predicting college football games.

The All-Star guard for the Fever made a few inaccurate predictions, including Iowa over Ohio State and Mississippi State over Alabama. She ultimately went 5-5 on her Week 5 picks.

While her record wasn’t great, Clark certainly proved she moves the needle even when she’s not on the hardwood.

Atlanta has hosted postseason games at State Farm Arena instead of Gateway Center, where the team played most of its regular-season contests. The Dream shifted from the 3,500-seat venue to the home of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks to accommodate more attendees.

However, the Dream haven’t confirmed where they will play home games if they advance past the New York Liberty to make the Finals. Colin Salao noted that State Farm Arena has scheduling conflicts on all three potential dates for Dream homes games.

State Farm Arena has a Sombr concert scheduled for Oct. 22, the same day as Game 3. The Hawks will play home games on Oct. 24 and 29, creating roadblocks for the stadium to host Games 4 and 6.

“We’re finalizing the details around our home venue and, if we advance, will share that information ASAP,” a spokesperson told Salao.

Meanwhile, a potential Finals opponent has already resolved a potential conflict.

Doja Cat is scheduled to perform at Chase Center on Oct. 19, the same day as Game 2. The Golden State Valkyries will hold home-court advantage over either the Dream or Liberty if they win their semifinal matchup against the Las Vegas Aces.

However, the Valkyries confirmed to Salao that the venue would host all Finals games if they advance. The Doja Cat concert would be moved to a different date.

Dream announce State Farm Arena as new home

While uncertainty remains over where the Dream would play in the Finals, they announced a multi-year deal to play all home games at State Farm Arena starting next season. Atlanta had sold out every game at Gateway Center Arena over the past three years.

The Dream followed a first-round sweep over the Washington Mystics with a Game 1 semifinals win over the Liberty. They’ll look to take a commanding 2-0 lead at State Farm Arena on Wednesday night.

Beloved director Matt Reeves has been filming “The Batman Part II” for the past few months in London. This blockbuster film, which stars Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader, is currently set to hit theaters on February 18, 2028.

Although nothing is confirmed at this time, “The Batman Part II” may get delayed again.

According to Deadline, production for “The Batman Part II” has been paused since Reeves has stepped away due to personal matters.

“Production on The Batman Part II has been temporarily paused while Matt Reeves focuses on a family matter,” Warne Bros and DC Studios said. “Matt has the full support of DC Studios and we look forward to continuing the journey soon.”

As you’d imagine, Batman fans are hoping Reeves and his family overcome whatever obstacle they’re dealing with right now.

“I hope he and his family are okay. It’ll still be waiting for him when he gets back,” one person said. “This, by the way, is the correct way to deal with this sort of situation.”

“This is tragic… Praying for Matt and I’ll keep an eye out for how this effects DC moving forward…,” a fan wrote on X.

“Really hope Matt Reeves is okay! It’s great to know he has the support from DC Studios. I would wait as long as he needs for his movie. Such a gifted filmmaker,” a second fan commented.

In a recent interview with NFL analytics man Ryan Paganetti, Kelce mused if it might be worth it for an NFL team to sign an athlete who’s seven feet or taller as a tight end and just throw goal line fades to him. Paganetti himself asked that question late last month after seeing basketball big man Tacko Fall try out for the Philadelphia 76ers.

“I’ve discussed versions of this with NFL players, coaches and a GM. I know that GM explored a way to test it, and an active special teams coach has shown interest,” Paganetti wrote on X. “When Fall’s basketball situation permits, bring him in for a controlled workout with a real snap, hold and protection unit. Measure what happens before making any roster decision.

“Minimal downside to testing. Potentially enormous upside if it works. One team gets to find out first.”

It’s a question that really got Kelce’s interest. The more the two discussed it, the more he wanted to see what a super tall player would be like in the NFL.

Kelce wasn’t the only one interested in the idea. But while some fans were eager to see how tough it might be, others pointed to some potential flaws in the idea:

“Imagine your field goal kicker trying to kick against a guy who is 7’4,” one user on X imagined.

“You put a Defensive End to gaurd him and just blow him up at the line of scrimmage so he never makes it to the end zone. A DE would put the guy on the ground near instantly and/be able to push him out of bounds so he can’t touch the ball being the first guy to return to field,” another argued.

“I’ve always said a 7 foot specialist for fades and FG block team would be worth it,” a third wrote.

“Let me tell you how it gets defended. First of all if a guy is 7‘4“ like that or like Victor Wembanyama they’re probably not the most coordinated in a football sense. They’re like Long and wiry. So I think the other team, even though they didn’t have a 7 foot player, they would probably get their tallest guy which was probably like 6 foot seven and just have him shadow the 7 foot guy. And I don’t think catching a football on a corner fade is as easy as people think. This isn’t 5 foot guy versus 10 foot guys. It’s 6 foot guys verse 7 foot guys,” a fourth wrote.

There’s only been one 7-foot player in NFL history – the late Richard Sligh. Morris Stroud was the tallest pass catcher in NFL history at 6-foot-10.

The league revealed that the first round drew a record 1.3 million average viewers across all platforms. Viewership jumped 37% from last year on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC.

It may not surprise fans to learn that a series between the Las Vegas Aces and Indiana Fever led the way. Game 2 drew 1.42 million average viewers on Prime Video, and the other two cleared 2 million as the round’s most-watched matchups.

WNBA Round 1 Review

Although all three games were decided by double-digit points, fans were particularly enthralled by a first-round series between the Fever and Aces.

Indiana’s All-Star trio of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston forced a winner-take-all contest with 75 combined points in a Game 2 win, but it wasn’t enough to dethrone the defending champions. A’ja Wilson was in peak MVP form, averaging 32.0 points and 11.7 boards per game.

The Fever couldn’t pull off an upset, but the New York Liberty sent the bracket into disarray by eliminating the Minnesota Lynx. It’s the first time the No. 1 seed has ever gotten swept out of a first-round WNBA playoff series.

The Liberty set up a second-round showdown with the Atlanta Dream, who won their first playoff series since 2018 by knocking out the Washington Mystics. Newly minted Defensive Player of the Year Angel Reese delivered a combined 28 points, 19 rebounds, and four blocks in two lopsided victories.

Fans witnessed the most drama in a thrilling first-round matchup between the Dallas Wings and Golden State Valkyries. After Golden State cruised to a 104-80 win in Game 1, Dallas forced a Game 3 with an overtime triumph behind a playoff-record 45 points from Arike Ogunbowale.

Ogunbowale scored 30 points in Game 3, but Golden State rallied for a gutsy 77-73 home win. Veronica Burton posted 16 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, and Tiffany Hayes added 18 points off the bench.

The WNBA will hope to enjoy more massive second-round ratings on a potential path to an unexpected Finals showdown. Atlanta took the first game over New York, and Golden State defeated Las Vegas on Sunday.

Watt spent the 2025 season on the No. 2 crew with CBS play-by-play announcer Ian Eagle. He was promoted to the No. 1 crew after Tony Romo was arrested by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office for unsafe passing on the right, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possessing open intoxicants.

Romo, who was initially placed on leave, mutually parted ways with CBS Sports last Friday.

“CBS Sports and Tony Romo have mutually agreed to part ways. We thank Tony for his contributions over the past nine years and wish him the best moving forward,” the network said. “JJ Watt will continue to partner with Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson on our lead NFL announce team for the rest of the season. All other teams remain the same, including Ian Eagle, Ross Tucker and Evan Washburn.”

Two days after CBS officially moved on from Romo, the network landed a record-setting audience for its telecast of the Chiefs-Raiders game.

CBS averaged 28.448 million viewers for the Chiefs-Raiders game, making it the most watched Week 4 game ever for any network.

Where’s Watt heading for Week 5?

Nantz and Watt are expected to call this Sunday’s game between the Indianapolis Colts and Pittsburgh Steelers.

If Watt wants to keep his role with CBS Sports on a full-time basis, he’ll have to keep impressing fans with his analysis in the broadcast booth.

CBS Sports has not yet made a final decision on Watt’s status for the 2027 season.

Tropical Depression Nine, which is on track to become Hurricane Isaias, could bring heavy rains and damaging wind gusts to the Gulf Coast this week. Although it’s only Tuesday, there’s legit concern that Mother Nature could derail this SEC showdown.

“We’ve got potential for a hurricane making landfall in Mobile Bay,” meteorologist James Spann told AL.com. “The Alabama-Georgia game, a presidential visit, College GameDay. You got the big (Zach Bryan) concert at Auburn. This is the National Shrimp Festival at Gulf Shores this weekend, which is huge. I mean, you could not … it’s gonna be a nightmare. The idea of moving the game, it’s on the table. I’m saying it’s clearly on the table. It would be a nightmare for everybody involved. The SEC has already announced that it’s monitoring this potential hurricane.

The hype surrounding the Georgia-Alabama game is undeniable.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” is set to travel to Tuscaloosa for this Saturday’s top-10 matchup, so it’d truly be a shame for this Saturday’s show to be relocated or canceled due to weather.

It’s also been reported that President Donald Trump will attend the Georgia-Alabama game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

If the weather forecast ends up taking a turn for the worse, Georgia and Alabama may have to consider postponing this highly-anticipated showdown.

It looks like they won’t – not entirely at least.

According to TMZ, Mahomes Sr. requested special permission from the court to attend Chiefs games in Kansas City, Las Vegas and Cincinnati this season. The judge signed off on some of those games, though refused to let him attend the game in Las Vegas against the Raiders or the game in Cincinnati against the Bengals.

So it looks like the only games Mahomes Sr. will be attending this year are Chiefs home games.

Mahomes Pays His Dues

As part of his plea agreement in the DWI case, Mahomes Sr. had to submit to regular urine tests with his probation officer before and after traveling. He was also required to complete 160 hours of community service and attend an outpatient treatment program. Mahomes Sr. also had to attach a SCRAM alcohol monitoring device to himself.

According to TMZ, Mahomes has already completed the community service and the outpatient program. He also reportedly had “no issues” with the various testing he’s undergone.

Mahomes Sr. has battled issues with alcohol for quite a while now. He’s been arrested no less than three times for alcohol related driving offenses.

This past February he was arrested for violating one of his probation terms by allegedly consuming some alcohol.

Spann is saying that the best-case outcome for the storm is if it moves east before making landfall in the U.S.

“But if it comes up through West Alabama or Mississippi,” Spann said, “it’s gonna be rough. I mean, real rough.”

As a reminder, here’s what to do when a storm hits:

• Secure items outside, such as lawn furniture and trash cans, that could be picked up by high winds and hurt someone.
• Anchor objects that would be unsafe to bring inside, such as gas grills and propane tanks.
• Trim or remove trees close enough to fall on your home. Review insurance policies.
• Protect windows with permanent storm shutters or pre-cut plywood. 
• Clean out drains, gutters and downspouts.
• Stockpile protective materials such as plastic sheeting and sandbags.
• Consider installing a sump pump with battery backup.
• Consider elevating the heating system, water heater, and electric panel.

The former Ohio State head coach watched his ex-rival drop its second straight Big Ten loss while covering the game for Fox’s “Big Noon Kickoff.” Meyer didn’t have many kind words for the Wolverines on “The Triple Option” podcast.

Host Rob Stone remarked that they were dismayed by the lack of “dudes” on Michigan’s roster while working Saturday’s game. Meyer concurred that he didn’t spot much high-end talent beyond quarterback Bryce Underwood.

“You have JJ Buchanan, you’ve got (Andrew) Marsh. I think they’re good players,” Meyer said. “I don’t see first-rounders out there bouncing around there like you’re used to seeing with the Wolverines. Or even second-rounders.

“Maybe I’m missing something, but we’ve watched them closely now, and the only first-round athlete on the field is Bryce Underwood.”

Making matters worse, Meyer agreed when Stone noted that Underwood wouldn’t be drafted in the first round as a quarterback.

“No, no, no, no” Meyer responded. “I said first-round athlete.”

“I didn’t see the energy”

Meyer witnessed Michigan’s offense settle for 180 total yards on Saturday. Underwood’s struggles continued, compiling 101 passing yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions.

Underwood has a 59.3% completion rate with five touchdowns in as many games this season, but Meyer doesn’t think the sophomore is fully responsible for Michigan’s shortcomings. The three-time national champion believes Kyle Whittingham’s program has a team-wide issue unfamiliar to the perennial college powerhouse.

“This is not all on him,” Meyer said of Underwood. “Unfortunately, he plays that position that is all on him. You know, whenever they win, the quarterback gets too much glory, and when they lose, they get too much blame. But that sideline, I just didn’t feel the dudes anywhere.

“And I was looking. I was staring. You know, plays are going on, and I’m staring because I did that for so long. I’m saying, ‘Where are the grown a** men?’ And I didn’t feel it. I didn’t see it when there had to be a big stop. I didn’t see the energy, and you know, I just didn’t see it.”

Two Australian rugby players, aged 13 and 12, have died. According to reports out of the country, they died by suicide. Parents and loved ones are speaking out for mental health advocacy.

Treyvon Bradshaw and Kaiyah Kennedy, aged 13 and 12 respectively, have died in recent weeks. The two Rugby players were part of the Coomera Cutters Rugby League Club community. Treyvon was a current player and Kaiyah previously played for the team.

Cutters president Joe Smith released a statement.

“It has really hurt our club and all their teammates, they were two of our own and their families were part of our community,” Mr Smith told NewsWire.

“I have young kids myself so it has really got me thinking about what more can be done to raise awareness of mental health and support the local community.”

Fundraisers have been set up for the families

A GoFundMe and other fundraisers have been set up for the families.

We are gathering support to help Breanna, Matt, and their boys with meals, financial assistance, and whatever else they need to get through the coming weeks, months. If you would like to contribute or help in any way your kind gesture will be greatly welcomed and appreciated.”

Meanwhile, the club is continuing to look for more resources and help for young athletes.

“At the end of the day, community sport is about community first,” Smith said.

“While some children may go on to the NRL, most of the boys just want to be a part of something, see their mates and play sport. Sometimes those two hours a week of training can be a break for them and their chance to let loose, play a bit of footy and be with their mates.

“One life lost in this way is too many, let alone two, so we’re trying to see if there’s anything we can do as a club to help get things out there.”

Treyvon died on September 26, while Kaiyah died on October 2.

For nearly a year, Torre provided in-depth reporting on the Los Angeles Clippers and how they used a $28 million endorsement deal for Kawhi Leonard to circumvent the salary cap. Although he took plenty of criticism for his initial reporting, the NBA issued a one-year suspension to Clippers owner Steve Ballmer. Additionally, the league forced the Clippers to forfeit their first-round picks for the 2029, 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033 drafts.

“What ESPN had done, according to my reporting, is they were fed a story by the Clippers that the Clippers may have known was not true,” Torre said, via Awful Announcing. “And why do you do that? Well, perhaps it’s because that’s the available territory that you have, having been beaten on the other part of this landscape. Perhaps you really believed it, because the Clippers looked you in the eye and for months, for a year, said to you, ‘We’re telling the truth, that annoying, clout-chasing podcaster is lying to you.”

What’s the next big store for Torre?

A little over a week ago, Torre provided a deep dive on Tim Tebow’s involvement with Life Surge, a Christian organization that holds events across the country that feature prominent speakers.

Torre reported that Tebow earns anywhere between $50,000-$100,000 per appearance with Life Surge. Additionally, he said those who attend Life Surge events are advised to sig up for “impact classes” at the price of $97. If they sign up for that course, they’re then presented with mentorship and coaching options that cost at least $10,000.

We’ll see if Torre continues to investigate Tebow’s partnership with Life Surge.

On Tuesday’s edition of The Herd, Cowherd did his weekly “Herd Hierarchy” of NFL teams and prefaced it by saying that he isn’t sure there currently are 10 teams that really qualify for “top” right now. Nevertheless, he made a case that the Cowboys are a top-10 team on the strength of their offense, particularly the connection between QB Dak Prescott and wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

“Listen I don’t like their coaching staff, but I’ll put the Dallas Cowboys in there (at 10). They gave up 7.6 yards a play to Houston, but I’ll say this: Dak, pass protection, Javonte Williams, CeeDee Lamb… when Dak is targeting CeeDee Lamb this year he completes 80-percent of his throws with a passer rating of 141. So it’s a very lopsided football team. They don’t make enough stops, they get gashed, but just based on this offense, I’m gonna put Dallas at No. 10.”

Are they a top 10 team?

Cowherd is certainly right on the money as far as Dallas’ offense goes. The team currently ranks second in the league with 122 points. Only the Buffalo Bills have more and the difference is only five points.

It’s not exactly one of the more balanced offenses though. The team is top-10 in all passing categories but in the bottom half for attempts, yards and yards per attempt. Simply put, the passing attack is doing all of the work.

As far as the defense goes, it’s almost indistinguishable from the unit that cost them so many games last year. They’ve given up 112 points – 5th most in the league and rank 30th in yards allowed.

The problem that should really worry Cowboys fans is that the team is statistically on track to be almost exactly the same as they were last year – and last year they went 7-9-1 and missed the playoffs for a second straight season.

Something has to give soon. Either the defense needs to step up or the running game needs to take off some of the load from Dak Prescott. If they don’t, things could get very ugly the moment Dak or one of his top two receivers suffers even the slightest injury.

After missing Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams due to personal reasons, Johnson revealed he’s retiring to focus on his mental health and family. The six-time Pro Bowl tackle started the first three games of his 14th season with the Eagles.

“I’ve realized that my personal and family priorities in my life have changed,” Johnson wrote in a letter posted on social media. “Right now, it is critical that I focus on my mental health. I owe it to my teammates, coaches, the organization and the fans to have my head and heart 100 percent in the game. And right now my heart is telling me that it’s time to say goodbye to football.

“At this time, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to retire from the National Football League.”

Fans react to Johnson’s retirement

Fans responded to Johnson’s bombshell retirement announcement on social media. Eagles supporters congratulated the two-time Super Bowl champion on an exemplary career that should earn him a gold jacket.

“Thank you so much for everything, GOAT,” Jake Rabadi wrote.

“Love you, man. Thanks for everything,” an Eagles fan said.

“Lane Johnson, one of the greatest Right Tackles in NFL history,” former Eagles teammate Emmanuel Acho said. “One of the greatest Philadelphia Eagles in history. One of the toughest dudes, mentally and physically you’ll ever meet. Enjoy retirement brother. The Eagles don’t win those Super Bowls without you.”

“What an awesome career,” Fansided’s Marcus Mosher said. “Legitimately one of the best RTs of all-time.”

Johnson started 171 regular-season games for the Eagles, who made nine playoff appearances during his career. ESPN researcher Paul Hembekides noted that Philadelphia went 122-63-1 when he played (postseason included) and 18-30 when he didn’t.

“Lane Johnson is an all-time Eagle and one of the best players ever to play his position in NFL history,” Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement released by the team. “Lane was a major contributor to our team success for 14 seasons, helping to bring two Super Bowl Championships and many other memorable moments to the organization and the City of Philadelphia.

Although the Chiefs improved to 4-0 on Sunday with a win over the Las Vegas Raiders, there were two brutal calls that went against them. Not only did the refs miss Chris Jones being held in the Raiders’ end zone, they allowed a Tre Tucker catch to stand despite the ball bouncing off the turf.

Even though Hunt posted a clip of the missed hold on Jones, the catch that Tucker made was far more controversial as it could’ve led to the Raiders making a game-tying field goal to send things into overtime.

Luckily for the Chiefs, their defense came up with a game-winning stop against Kirk Cousins and the Raiders. The bad news for the NFL is the Hunt family isn’t ready to forgive their officiating mistakes.

Not only did Tavia Hunt call out the league’s refs, she debunked the idea that Kansas City benefits from preferential treatment.

Are the refs against the Chiefs?

Interestingly enough, former Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniel suggested that Patrick Mahomes benefitted from special treatment in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins.

Before defensive end Chop Robinson put a hit on Mahomes, the ref was getting ready to throw a flag.

“That’s a little bit weird. He’s already going to it. He’s pulling for it already,” Daniel said in his video. “That’s crazy. Like the flag is out before he even finishes the act.”

Suffice to say, the league’s officiating is all over the place on a week-to-week basis.

The supermodel divorced her legendary NFL quarterback husband, Tom Brady, back in 2022. Four years later, Bundchen has moved on. She has a new life partner in jiu-jitsu coach Joaquim Valente. The couple recently welcomed their first child into the world; Bundchen and Brady had two kids together.

Bundchen, seemingly happy, wants everyone to know that she’s feeling good four years after the divorce. It doesn’t sound like she regrets anything.

“She always thought she would be married to Tom for the rest of her life,” an insider close to Bundchen told People on October 2. “The divorce was very upsetting, and she struggled to understand it at the time, but she’s not bitter.”

The source added that Bundchen is “grateful for their children and the years they shared.”

Bundchen, who was married to Brady for more than 10 years, believe the the universe had other plans in store for her.

“She’s very spiritual and looking back, she feels the universe had another plan for her,” they added.

Brady has been dealing with it well, too

Brady made it clear at the time that he was going through it, but he understood that everyone in life has a struggle or two.

“There’s a lot of professionals in life that go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home,” Brady said at the time. “Obviously the good news is that it’s a very amicable situation, and I’m really focused on two things — taking care of my family and certainly my children. And secondly doing the best job I can to win football games.

“That’s what professionals do. You focus at work when it’s time to work. Then when you come home, you focus on the priorities that are at home. All you can do is the best you could do. That’s what I’ll just continue to do as long as I’m working and as long as I’m being a dad.”

Brady is now thriving, working as the No. 1 announcer for Fox Sports, and he’s doing a great job. Brady has made serious improvements over three years in the broadcasting booth.

The NFL regular season will continue this weekend.

According to sports media insider Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Kenny Albert will be replacing Joe Davis on play-by-play duties for Game 3 tonight. Per the report, Davis is feeling “under the weather” and has apparently lost his voice.

“Kenny Albert will be on the call for Game 3 and of the Dodgers vs. Braves on Fox as Joe Davis is under the weather, The Athletic has learned,” Marchand wrote. “I’m told Davis (who has lost his voice) is day-to-day.”

Davis has been FOX’s No. 1 play-by-play man since 2022 and has been with the network since 2014. He’s been doing postseason work for the Division Series and Championship Series since 2017.

For the Los Angeles Dodgers, he’s been doing their play-by-play on Spectrum SportsNet LA since 2016.

The Series So Far

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves are tied 1-1 in the 2026 NLDS after splitting the first two games at Dodger Stadium. Los Angeles won Game 1, 5-3, behind a strong performance from Tarik Skubal, who allowed one run over six innings, and a two-run homer from Teoscar Hernández. The Dodgers carried a 5-1 lead into the ninth before Atlanta scored twice, but Evan Phillips closed out the victory. The game was played in extreme heat, with temperatures reaching 100 degrees at first pitch.

Atlanta responded with a 3-2 victory in Game 2, using a bullpen game to limit the Dodgers to six hits. Michael Harris II was the offensive catalyst, going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, RBI and run scored, while the Braves’ relievers combined for 6⅓ innings of one-run ball. Freddie Freeman and Max Muncy homered for Los Angeles, but the Dodgers went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position. The series now shifts to Atlanta for Game 3, featuring a highly anticipated pitching matchup between Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Chris Sale.

Johnson, the No. 4 pick from the 2013 NFL Draft, earned Pro Bowl honors six times during his career with the Eagles. Of course, Philly fans can’t forget that he was part of both Super Bowl runs during the 2017 and 2024 seasons.

Even though Johnson started this season on Philadelphia’s roster, he has decided to walk away from the game to focus on his family and his mental health.

A strong argument can be made that Johnson was the heart and soul of the Eagles. His absence will undoubtedly impact Nick Sirianni’s offense.

The WWE signed Green in January 2023. After spending time in the tag team division, she proved herself in singles competition by winning the United States Championship twice. Her true breakout moment came this past August at SummerSlam when she won the WWE Women’s Championship in a ladder match.

Dave Roberts adjusted his lineup for the NLDS matchup against Braves ace Chris Sale at Truist Park. Ohtani drops to fifth in the batting order, which Talkin’ Baseball noted is the lowest the four-time MVP has hit since 2020.

Ohtani spent nearly the entire regular season in the Dodgers’ leadoff role before sliding to second in the first two NLDS games. Hindered by knee and biceps injuries, the superstar designated hitter has gone 2-for-8 with no walks or extra-base hits against Atlanta.

Mookie Betts will stay in the leadoff spot, and Freddie Freeman slides up from cleanup to No. 2. Teoscar Hernandez bats third against the southpaw before Will Smith and Ohtani.

Miguel Rojas will bat sixth as the starting second baseman, and Andy Pages remains the starting center fielder at No. 7 after two hitless games. Kyle Tucker and his $60 million average annual salary bat eighth, and Enrique Hernandez draws his first start of the series at third base over left-handed slugger Max Muncy.

Tommy Edman, who has a career .803 OPS against lefties, will take a seat after going 0-for-5 in the first two games.

Dodgers move Ohtani down the order

Dropping Ohtani down the lineup card didn’t come out of nowhere. Roberts addressed the possibility after the 32-year-old struck out twice in Sunday’s 3-2 loss.

“I would,” Roberts said Monday about moving Ohtani down, per Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times. “I think it’s something that, you know, I think moving him from 1 to 2 — but going further than that? I’m open to it.

“And it’s something that if I do, I would obviously have the conversation with Shohei to explain why. And at the end of the day every conversation I’ve had with him is whatever’s best for the team, he’s all-in on. So I know that undoubtedly.”

The Dodgers have acknowledged that Ohtani isn’t 100% healthy, and it’s apparent in his lagging production. He batted .200/.333/.233 in September and hasn’t hit a home run since Aug. 18.

Ohtani has never batted lower than No. 2 since joining the Dodgers in 2024. But for what it’s worth, he snapped a 16-game homer drought when he last batted sixth on Sept. 19, 2020, for the Los Angeles Angels.

Tuesday’s game between the Dodgers and Braves starts at 6 p.m. ET on FS1.

During a recent appearance on This Past Weekend with Theo Von, Saban argued that the more than 30 college football head coaching firings last year can be tracked back to that.

“How do you evaluate the players? Who are you going to pay? What positions are most important? Because if you pay the wrong guys, and you’ve heard me say this before, you’re (expletive) out of luck,” Saban said. “So when you can’t evaluate the players, and don’t pay the right guys, you’re going to pay the consequences for that in the future because you’re going to spend all this money and not have a very good team. And you’re not going to get the outcome everybody expects.

“Then the cause and effect of paying players is we’re raising money from alumni who now think they should have a say in what happens, and that’s why 33 coaches got fired last year.”

College football fans, though, seem to be growing annoyed by Saban’s criticism of today’s age of the sport.

“ESPN is about air the documentary on him. Without mentioning a word about how Nick had an advantage over everyone else. Yet now Nick is lecturing about boosters. Shameless,” one fan wrote.

“I am reminded again how thankful I am today that Nick Saban is the voice of college football. Is Saban being disingenuous with his criticism of the game today?

During the opening set of this Round of 32 match, Gauff was serving down 5-4 when she put her hand up for a hindrance while it was 15-15. Sun ended up hitting a winner on that point, but it didn’t count since the advertising signs on the side of the court flickered mid-rally.

Even though Gauff was well within her right to interrupt this rally, some truly awful tennis fans accused her of cheating against Sun.

As if accusing her of being a cheater wasn’t despicable enough, Gauff was bombarded with racial slurs on X. She responded to those hate messages with a brief statement Monday night.

“Hey everyone, you can dislike me or disagree about what happened without being racist,” Gauff said. “The amount of racist comments/dms I’ve received in the last few hours is insane. Lastly, I ‘m not a cheater or a thief.”

Tennis community offering its support to Coco.

“Coco! You are a proud black woman and we love you! Don’t care or look at any of the comments from the ignorant stupid people,” six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker said. “You’re special and one of a kind! Keep walking straight with your head held up high! Love from the Becker family!”

“Clear what this was about from the beginning… absolutely disgusting that she’s subjected to this over a point replay,” one person commented.

Gauff has been a class act throughout her career. There’s zero reason for people to treat her with such disrespect.

According to the New York Post, the president will have Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey by his side for tonight’s rally. The two-time All-Pro is less than 48 hours removed from a Week 4 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

“Marlon Humphrey is a great talent, player, and leader for the Ravens,” Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz told the New York Post. “He is also widely respected in the locker room and the city of Baltimore.”

Apparently, Humphrey will discuss his charity work with Trump ahead of Tuesday’s event at Sparrows Point. They’ll also announce a new submarine facility for Baltimore.

Marlon Humphrey is a fan of the current president.

Earlier this year, Humphrey asked Trump to play a round of golf with him while he was in Palm Beach, Florida.

“Just pulled up to Palm Beach,” he wrote on X. “Where my president at. Let’s golf.”

There’s no question Humphrey is willing to support Trump publicly – even if that may lead to online criticism.

The longtime Hollywood star died at 36 years old on August 26. She was found dead inside of a Carolina home. She was determined to have died from an accidental overdose of drugs, including fentanyl, the coroner says.

Now, her ex-partner is claiming that someone in the actress’s orbit sold some of her things to a pawn shop. He’s demanding that the police help, as he says the pawn shop is not responding.

“Wladimir said the pawn shop has declined to disclose specific item information without being contacted by law enforcement,” TMZ Sports reported.

“In his filing, the former boxer said he was concerned that the items would be sold off to third parties absent some intervention by law enforcement. He submitted the docs in connection with his effort to be named guardian of Kaya, the daughter he had with Hayden, noting that the recovery of Hayden’s property has a direct impact on her inheritance.”

The former boxer has sole custody of their daughter, but he needs to be named guardian to be able to assist Kaya with her inheritance from Hayden’s estate.

Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, is out of the postseason. The Indiana Fever fell to the Las Vegas Aces in the first round. Clark’s absence from the remainder of the WNBA Playoffs is obviously a blow to the league’s TV ratings. It’s inarguable that Clark is the biggest TV draw in the sport right now.

But that doesn’t mean that she’s the only draw.

The WNBA’s 2026 TV ratings are up 17 percent year over year. TV ratings have remained strong for non-Caitlin Clark playoff games, too.

Hill is getting annoyed by Clark’s fans suggesting that the league is in a bad place without her.

Hill posted: “Last year’s WNBA Finals, which did not have Caitlin Clark, was the second-most watched Finals ever.”

She’s responding to critical fans, too.

“You just can’t see what is in front of your face. That’s an actual fact but Clark helped them get there and to the other players credit they kept some people tuned in. I hope it continues,” one fan wrote.

Hill responded: “No one is saying she didn’t, and she deserves credit for taking the league to another level. But it feels like some people root against the league when she’s not playing. That’s obnoxious, and shows they don’t care about women’s basketball, just Caitlin Clark.”

It’s a fair point, but Hill, and everyone else surrounding the WNBA, continue to talk about Clark and her fans at a high rate.

With 1:50 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Patriots-Bills game, Chism gave his squad the lead with an incredible one-handed touchdown catch. The undrafted wideout from Eastern Washington received plenty of love from his head coach after the final whistle was blown.

“Nobody works harder,” Patriots coach Mike Vrabel told WEEI. “You love to see players take advantage of opportunities and help the team win. He is very well respected. He practices. He is on the show team. He takes a million reps. Nobody logs more miles or yards or whatever we track than Chism.”

The Bills took a shot at Efton Chism.

Bills defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson felt the need to rain on Chism’s parade once Sunday’s game was over.

“We’re not going to get into any bulletin board material,” Gardner-Johnson said. “An elevated guy made a heck of a catch — probably won’t hear from him again. … A practice squad player made a heck of a play. That’s all I’m going to tell you. You do it again, and he probably won’t make it again.”

The Bills and Patriots will meet again on Dec. 6 at Gillette Stadium.

Cunningham, 30, has blown up on social media. She has more than four million followers. Her 4.3 million followers is more than nearly every other WNBA and even NBA star. Cunningham, who is coming off an expiring contract season in Indiana, will be a free agent this fall.

While Cunningham’s future in the WNBA is unclear, her future on social media is crystal clear. She’s likely to continue to blow up on social media moving forward. Back in the summer, she went viral for her makeup-free photo.

The WNBA offseason starts later this fall. A lot of eyes will be on Cunningham and the Fever.

The 30-year-old shooting guard is a free agent. She’s coming off a one-year deal with the Indiana Fever. The WNBA franchise has said that they would like to re-sign Cunningham, though it’s unclear if it’ll happen.

Cunningham will have a big offseason, that’s for sure.

According to Pete Nakos of On3, Gundy is set to make his television debut on TNT this week for their college football coverage. He will be serving as a guest analyst on a broadcast team that also includes Champ Bailey and Takeo Spikes along with host Jordan Cornette.

Per the report, this is Gundy’s only scheduled appearance as an analyst. Gundy has reportedly decided to limit his TV appearances in order to spend more time with his family.

“The studio show is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. ET, with Arizona and West Virginia kicking off at noon. For Gundy, the move comes after he previously passed on other television opportunities this season,” Steve Samra wrote on On3.com.

“ESPN had offered him various weekend studio assignments in Bristol, while FOX Sports also had interest in using him as a game analyst. Gundy instead chose to stay out of the weekly television cycle and spend more time at home and with his family.”

The Oklahoma State legend

Gundy spent most of the last 40 years at Oklahoma State, with four years as the team’s quarterback (1986-1989), and a decade as an assistant (1990-95, 2001-04) before being named the head coach in 2005.

Over his 21 seasons in charge, the Cowboys enjoyed one of their longest stretches of sustained success in school history. From 2006 to 2023, the Cowboys enjoyed 18 straight winning seasons and bowl eligible campaigns. The team was ranked in the top-25 an impressive 10 times and in 2011 won their first conference title in 35 years.

At 170-90, his wins total accounts for more than a quarter of all wins the program has achieved in its 125-year history.

Though these days he’s sometimes remembered more for his soundbites than his winning records.

During the bottom of the first inning of Game 2, Chisholm made a costly error that allowed the Rays to get an early 1-0 lead. He had an errant throw to first base that led to Yandy Diaz scoring from second. It was a careless mistake that simply shouldn’t happen during postseason baseball.

The Yankees went on to make four errors in their 5-2 loss Monday night. Chisholm, however, doesn’t regret the mistake he made on the diamond.

“Honestly, I’d probably still throw it,” Chisholm told reporters. “The play was trying to be made. I just feel like I could have probably tried to make an even better throw. Where I’d throw it, I’d try and throw it a little more closer to the base. My back was turned.”

As you’d imagine, Yankees fans hated that response from Chisholm.

Season is on the line Wednesday.

The Yankees will be facing elimination this Wednesday when they take the field for Game 3 against the Rays.

Aaron Boone will lean on All-Star pitcher Max Fried for Game 3. He’s coming off a great performance in the Wild Card Series where he gave up one run on three hits in over six innings of work.

“He can do anything that he wants, honestly, on the mound,” Yankees catcher Austin Wells said. “He’s got so many pitches, so much ability to get outs for us. He’s going to go out there and do what he does and give us a great chance to win the ballgame.”

We’ll see if Fried keeps the Yankees’ season alive Wednesday night.

Klum and her daughter first posed together for lingerie shoots in 2022. She responded to some of the backlash while speaking to People in 2025.

“A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, I don’t know about mom and daughter doing this together.’ But for us? I’m proud of my daughter. She’s fine with me like that,” she said.

In response to the backlash, Marshall took to X and took responsibility for the “inappropriate comments” and apologized to his coaches and teammates.

“Last weekend, in the hours after we lost, I made some inappropriate comments that I regret,” Zack Marshall wrote. “The game is one and lost as a team, and I pointed fingers instead of taking accountability. I let my frustrations speak for me in an emotional moment. I apologize to my teammate and coaches for the unnecessary drama that this has caused. A Sign of Things to Come?

The fact that Marshall acknowledged making the comments shows that the leaks weren’t fake. As a result, plenty of fans have started taking the Wolverines to task for being a “dumpster fire” one month into the college football season.

“Bro… this is a straight hostage statement written by the hostage taker😂😂😂 Michigan football on full damage control.😂😂😂 You hate to see cheaters get their due,” one user on X mocked.

“Team is falling apart,” wrote another.

“The leak was very much real,” a third wrote. “Its a dumpster fire in Ann Arbor.”

It’s hard to deny that things have taken a bad turn for Michigan football. Their unconvincing 3-0 start to the season has now turned into a two-game losing streak against Iowa and Minnesota.

The last time Michigan started 0-2 in Big Ten play was in 2014. The team went on to finish 5-7 and head coach Brady Hoke was fired.

There aren’t that many easy games remaining on Michigan’s schedule this year either. Aside from Penn State, Rutgers and Michigan State, they’ll probably be either underdogs or narrow favorites in games against Indiana, Oregon, UCLA and Ohio State.

7-5 or even 6-6 is very much on the table right now.

The team‘s defense has yet to perform under new defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard, and Campbell believes the root of that has to do with a lack of cohesion and discipline on that side of the ball.

Detroit has allowed a minimum of 24 points and 355 yards in each of its first four games — and Campbell is willing to make whatever changes necessary to get the Lions’ D back to being formidable.

But Campbell isn’t putting Detroit’s .500 start squarely on the defense, he says the offense has to step up too.

“Man, if you want to be great, they should want to score 35 points a game, at a minimum. That’s what greatness is. That’s what they’re charged with,” the coach explained. “We’ve got plenty of weapons on offense and if we’re gonna accept mediocrity, then yeah, we can make all the excuses in the world.”

“We’re not going to be average. We’re going to raise the floor on these guys, man. We’re going to push ‘em,” Campbell concluded. “We’ve got too much offensively right now. The Lions are currently tied for third in the NFC North behind the undefeated Vikings and 3-1 Bears. They’ll start divisional play on Oct. 25 when Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers come to town in the 4:25 PM ET window.

Prior to the start of the 2026 NFL season, Romo was arrested in Wisconsin and charged with unsafe passing on the right, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possessing open intoxicants. After placing him on leave, CBS made the decision to part ways with Romo.

According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, CBS wanted to move on from Romo and the $72 million remaining on his contract.

Romo signed a 10-year, $180 million extension with CBS after becoming one of the most popular broadcasters in the business. However, his popularity took a hit once he stopped predicting plays before they happened.

Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports released an opinion piece on Romo’s run with CBS Sports and how it impacted the sports media industry.

Although his tenure ended on a sour note, Romo’s early success inspired all the major TV networks to pursue athletes, such as Tom Brady, Greg Olsen and J.J. Watt, for broadcasting gigs immediately after they retired.

“The Romo phenomenon sparked a gold rush to hire younger, fresh-off-the-field analysts. At age 35, Greg Olsen signed a deal to become Fox’s No. 2 game analyst in 2020—while still playing for the Seahawks,” McCarthy wrote. “In less than three years, Olsen drew raves for his call of Super Bowl LVII for Fox. Shortly after retiring, JJ Watt joined CBS in 2023. As Romo’s successor, the 37-year-old Watt is poised to call Super Bowl LXII in 2028. Only seven months after retiring from the Steelers and joining NBC, 54-year-old Mike Tomlin is proving to be one of the most promising TV rookies in years.”

What’s next for Tony Romo?

Romo has not yet said what’s next for his broadcasting career, but NFL fans expect him to land another prominent gig in the future.

Sam Neumann of Awful Announcing believes Romo would be a great replacement for Terry Bradshaw on “Fox NFL Sunday.” However, the four-time Super Bowl champion has not yet announced when he’ll retire.

Only time will tell if Romo gets a chance to redeem himself.

The iconic NBA star donated $10 million to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work on Monday, Oct. 5, according to The Athletic. Jordan made the donation in honor of his mother.

Deloris Jordan, 85, is a longtime social worker. She will have her name added to the university’s Global Social Development Innovations Center. The Chapel Hill, North Carolina school will also start the Jordan Family Scholars program to provide 10 students pursuing their Master of Social Work with $12,500 scholarships.

“My mother has always believed in the power of helping children, families and communities, and she has spent her life putting that belief into action,” Jordan said.

He added, “Honoring her through this gift to the UNC School of Social Work is truly meaningful to my family and to me. North Carolina will always be home, and I’m proud to support the social workers who are on the ground each and every day helping people navigate challenges, find opportunities and build stronger communities. I hope this gift helps make it possible for more students to pursue this important work.”

The donation is the largest in the history of the UNC School of Social Work.

Jordan’s mom was the key figure behind the iconic NBA star getting a percentage of shoe sales, which proved to be a billion-dollar decision.

The legendary NBA star had one request for Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s “Air” movie, too. He wanted the legendary Viola Davis to play the role of his mom.

The 21-year-old guard, drafted in the second round in 2024, has played in 69 regular season games over two seasons. He showed a little bit of growth in 2025-26, averaging 2.9 points and 1.2 assists per game.

Bronny James was a five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American, though it’s fair to wonder if he would’ve had those accolades if he was not LeBron’s son.

Regardless, he’s shown some promise as an NBA player, and it’s still early in his career, but it’ll be interesting to see if the Lakers give him any room to grow now that his dad isn’t around.

Andrews covered a 24-20 Rams victory for Fox in rainy conditions. The sideline reporter offered a quick peek behind the scenes, highlighting her preparation for the weather.

The broadcaster shared a post captioned “Instagram vs reality” on Tuesday. The first photo displays a smiling Andrews, wearing an all-black rain suit, holding an umbrella and talking into a Fox microphone on the sideline.

Rams defeat Eagles on rainy day

Before the game, Andrews doubled as a meteorologist to give a tongue-in-cheek weather report on “Fox NFL Sunday.” She noted that the rain wasn’t cooperating as some forecasts anticipated.

“Clearly, if you see my hair growing from the back into the front, that means we have some humidity,” Andrew said. “We have a mist, we have some wind. This thing was supposed to taper off at noon, but I don’t see that tapering anywhere.”

Eagles fans sat in gloomy weather only to watch the home team stumble down the stretch. Philadelphia didn’t score in the second half, and the Rams found the end zone on consecutive fourth-quarter drives to erase a 10-point deficit.

Kyren Williams sparked the comeback with 80 rushing yards, a career-high 10 catches, and two touchdowns. The Rams running back unleashed primal screams at the beginning and end of a fiery post-game interview with Andrews.

“I’m just super proud of this team,” Williams told Andrews. “How we fought, and how we stayed connected throughout all the stuff that went wrong.”

In response to Sunday’s in-game interactions between referee Adrian Hill and Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson, and line judge Jeff Seeman and Cardinals tight end Trey McBride, the NFL has reportedly handed down a couple of suspensions.

Hill will miss one game for his conduct, while Seeman will miss two. But according to the NFLRA, neither punishment is just.

In a statement released by the union on Tuesday, here’s what the NFLRA had to say about the NFL’s “excessive” response:

“The NFL Referees Association believes the suspensions imposed by the NFL on two officials following incidents this past weekend were excessive and inconsistent with past precedent,” the association said (via Albert Breer). “Given these concerns, the NFLRA will challenge the severity of those suspensions and meet with the NFL Officiating Department to discuss the League’s disciplinary standards.”

“The association also plans to meet with NFL Players Association leadership to address on-field conduct and the growing levels of confrontation between players and officials,” it concluded.

NFLRA executive director Scott Green also chimed in with some comments. Adding that: “NFL officials have a responsibility to conduct themselves professionally on the field, and the actions in these incidents fell short of that standard. The Referees Association is understandably going to bat for its fellow members. Now it’s just a matter of whether or not the powers that be deem it part of the NFL’s established pattern of ref discipline.

On Monday, the NFL suspended line judge Jeff Seeman for using an expletive directed at Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride. Referee Adrian Hill also received a one-game ban for an apparent overreaction to being knocked to the ground by Eric Wilson of the Minnesota Vikings.

The league’s decision earned the praise of one person who has a habit of taking the league to task: ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio.

Florio praises the NFL

In an article on Tuesday, Florio applauded the NFL for holding the referees to a high standard after weeks of being lambasted over being “fine-happy” for player conduct on the field. He said that the NFL’s decision defuses the potential complaints of there being double-standards between players and officials.

“Regardless, the league took action as to both Seeman and Hill. The league had no choice. The officials are supposed to be neutral, measured, and detached. They’re the judges in the courtroom that is a football field. And judges typically don’t say “fuck you” to the lawyers or the parties who appear before them. (A judge or two may have wanted to say it to me during my former career, but never did. At least not loud enough for me to hear it.),” Florio wrote.

“Appearances matter. How can anyone expect the players and coaches to restrict their behavior if the officials can’t, or won’t?

“Besides, the NFL has suddenly gone fine-happy over previously acceptable celebrations by players. Also, it’s constantly looking for any type of actual or perceived “taunting” indignity that could increase the on-field temperature between players. That standard should apply to officials — and it should be an even higher bar.”

He seems to be right. The fact that the referees’ association is complaining about the punishment very much feels like they’re getting a taste of their own medicine for a change.

ESPN NBA reporter Michael C. Wright is reportedly not talking to American media outlets about the NBA Finals loss. He is reportedly only willing to speak to “60 Minutes,” according to the NBA insider.

“I was told he’s not even talking to any American media outlets..,” he said on the “Hoop Collective” podcast.

Wembanyama previously said that he’s hopeful for the future.

“It evolves with time,” Wembanyama said of the emotional toll he’s been dealing with, per ESPN. “But I’ve had a few [nights where it’s] hard to find sleep sometimes or hard emotions. But there’s just a point where you accept that you have to go through it, and you have to feel all of it. We’re going to face these emotions. We’re in a great spot. We’re very hopeful, very ambitious and ready.”

Spurs veteran Harrison Barnes is a good teammate for the young star.

“If we happen[ed] to win 60 games this year, I don’t think anyone would pat us on the back,” Barnes said. “That would be more expected. For us, it’s a matter of the focus we have every single day in terms of our standard we’re setting for ourselves and comparing it against that. This team has playoff experience. So, you know what you’re up against. I don’t think it’s one of those things where you simply carry momentum from one season to the next. You have to come back and start the journey from Day 1 again.

“In every championship team you look at, there was that moment where the team fell short and it was very painful. I think it just sharpens your focus, sharpens your discipline when you talk about what it takes versus not having that experience.”

The 2026-27 NBA season will start later this month.

Cunningham had a respectable season with the Fever, averaging 7.9 points per game on 41.9% shooting from the 3-point line. Although she was a valuable asset off the bench, she received plenty of criticism for various comments she made off the court.

For starters, Cunningham told ESPN that she wanted to “protect young girls in a locker room” with biological men. Her remarks about transgender inclusion in women’s sports led to outrage in the WNBA community. Just this month alone, Cunningham went viral for calling out A’ja Wilson on her podcast.

“Us women in sports yell from the rooftops that we want equality. We want to be treated by the men and we want all this stuff,” Cunningham said. “If you’re asking for all these fans to come [support] and you have real sports fans do something that a sports fan would probably do, we’re going to go for them just saying you fouled? Like grow up, what are we doing? We ask all these things and then once people come out and support us, we get mad and then its inappropriate.”

Candace Buckner of The Athletic ultimately believes the Fever should move on from Cunningham, a 2027 free agent, this upcoming offseason.

“Cunningham is too combustible, her takes too turbulent to be paired with Caitlin Clark. On the same team, it’s just too much. Clark, by her presence alone, already can’t get through a season without being thrown into gutter debates that pit White against Black; hate that appears even in the DMs of her own teammates. Cunningham, with only a few words, introduced new divisions,” Buckner writes.

“Still, you’ve got to give it to her. She’s a smart businesswoman. She sensed the opportunity, the profitability that comes from standing in the jet stream of a superstar’s rise. She profited from the Tres Leches nickname fans gave her, Clark and Lexie Hull — the Fever’s three most prominent White players. She started a podcast following the dustup with Sheldon. Her X and TikTok accounts gained more than a million followers after the whole pointing thing. She held round cards and pointed at fans, again, while performing as a ring girl at UFC 329.”

Unsurprisingly, this column from Buckner didn’t sit well with a portion of the WNBA community.

“All of this crap simply bc @sophaller was asked a question about biological men playing women’s sport and answered honestly…something most athletes & media are too cowardly to do,” former ESPN anchor Sage Steele replied. “There’s a lot of hatred in this article..so sad what sports media has become.”

“This could not be more inaccurate,” former ESPN star Linda Cohn wrote.

“You don’t have to like Sophie…You can absolutely think that she’s a distraction for the Fever and want her gone…But even still this article is completely UNHINGED,” one fan said.

“Lols no reason at all and will be a cheap contract for them. No responsibility placed on the coach who failed on stubbornness,” another fan commented.

“Well there are many reasons I think Indy should not bring Sophie back, this is absolutely not one of them,” a third fan wrote.

This season, the Indiana Fever and even the whole Caitlin Clark experience took a backseat to a bench player with big opinions.

Are the Fever done with Sophie?

Fever general manager Amber Cox was asked if Cunningham’s off-court comments will impact their free agency plan. She shot down that narrative in a hurry.

“Sophie is a really solid leader in the locker room … she brings levity, but also brings a lot of experience. She’s serious and is an important voice in our locker room when we need it, when we really need to lock in,” Cox said. “She’s an unrestricted free agent, so we look forward to having those conversations. She had a really productive year, and we’ll see just where things take us.”

Time will tell if the Fever want to keep Cunningham in their locker room.

Earlier today, 105.3 The fan in Dallas noted that Aubrey has been one of the worst kickers in the league since Week 15 of the 2025 season. He’s 17 of 24 with all seven of his misses coming from the 50-65 yard range.

It’s worth noting that two of the kicks have been blocked. Other than that, he’s been money from inside the 50.

Does Big D Have An Aubrey Problem?

Fans on X have a wide range of opinions over whether Aubrey is really struggling or if it only looks that way because of where he’s kicking from:

“I’m not worried yet. The 17-for-24 number looks bad until you look at where the misses came from: every one was from 51 yards or longer, and two were blocked. Aubrey is still perfect inside 50 over that stretch. I’d watch the long-range misses, especially because that has always been part of his value, but I’m not treating a 70.8% headline number the same way I would if he were missing routine kicks,” one user wrote on X.

“Yea 17/24 looks bad until you realize that 6 of them are 57-65 yard attempts. Lmao,” wrote another.

“After 2 blocks, 2wks in a row, I’m sure he’s concerned. Need more consistency on blocking for him so he’s focused on his job and not others jobs,” wrote a third.

“Coaching issue. Stop trying to kick the monster kicks. If you are GOTI, go score. Use Dak until you absolutely have to kick it and save the 55yd+ kicks for end of half/end of game situations.”

The Cowboys are very lucky that they were able to beat the Houston Texans in Week 4. Aubrey made two successful field goals but missed two in a 34-30 win.

But his misses loomed large the week before as his missed field goal became the difference in a 34-31 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Simply put, the sooner Aubrey returns to being automatic, the sooner the Cowboys can breathe a little easier.

Miller, who joined ESPN in 2021, was involved in a life-threatening car accident in Kansas City back in June. The longtime draft analyst had his left arm amputated in the crash, which led to his family launching a GoFundMe campaign online. They received over $51,000 in donations before the campaign was paused.

Miller was later hit with a misdemeanor count for failing to drive on the right half of the roadway. Additionally, the Missouri Attorney General’s office launched an investigation into Miller’s request for charitable donations.

According to Heather Sullivan of KMOV, Miller has pleaded not guilty to his misdemeanor charge. He has also waived a formal arraignment.

“The Missouri AG says she continues to investigate allegations of financial fraud,” Sullivan added.

Sullivan is expected to share more information this Tuesday night on KMOV.

What’s next for Matt Miller?

Back in July, Miller announced that he was placed on leave by ESPN.

“A quick update: The surgery to remove my left arm was successful with hopes of an eventual prosthetic replacement. Similarly, the femur and patella surgeries were also successful and the fantastic surgery team was able to save my left leg,” Miller said. “To best focus on my healing and recovery, I’m stepping away indefinitely and will be placed on leave from ESPN. Thank you to all for the prayers and thoughts; please keep them coming.”

Since Miller is dealing with the Missouri Attorney General’s investigation as well as a misdemeanor charge, it’s highly unlikely we’ll see him on TV anytime soon.
