Report: Cincinnati's Butch Jones Will Replace Derek Dooley At Tennessee

A good move?

Scoop: University of Cincinnati Director of Athletics Whit Babcock made an announcement in a press release this morning that head coach Butch Jones would be leaving the Bearcats for Tennessee. The official announcement from UT will come at 2:30 p.m. today.

Significance: Tennessee has finally filled its vacant head coaching role, while Cincinnati will need to now find a replacement for Jones. Jones had been interviewing at multiple schools, so this doesn't come as a surprise to the Bearcats.

Story: Butch Jones interviewed a few places, most notably Colorado, where it was actually incorrectly reported that he'd taken the job. This morning, Volquest.com was the first to report that Jones had accepted the Tennessee job. Jones will take over a once-proud program that has won two SEC conference games total in the past two seasons. Thus far, reaction by Vols fans to the hiring has been mixed.
