Every NFL Draft features a few prospects that slide down the board for inexplainable reasons. While it’s unfortunate for the players that have to wait a little longer, it provides teams the chance to get a steal.
As of right now, the consensus around the league is that Ed Oliver is the biggest steal of the draft. His production with Houston and numbers at his pro day warrant a top-five selection.
However, surprise picks from the Oakland Raiders and the New York Giants pushed Oliver further down the draft order. Luckily for the Buffalo Bills, he fell right into their lap.
During today’s episode of Good Morning Football, NFL analyst Peter Schrager had high praise for Oliver.
“A fantastic kid off the field and an even better one on it. This could be the very next Aaron Donald,” Schrager said.

Oliver will replace Kyle Williams in the middle of the Bills’ defense for 2019.
In his three seasons of college football, the star defensive tackle finished with 192 total tackles and 13.5 sacks.
With a plethora of talented prospects still remaining on the board for the second round, we’ll see if Oliver can retain his status as the biggest steal of the draft.
