It's official - ESPN's College GameDay is heading to Memphis for the Memphis-SMU contest. The game features two schools not typically in the spotlight, but both teams have certainly earned the show's presence.

After the announcement of the show's site on Monday, Kirk Herbstreit posted his reaction on Twitter. He's clearly excited for the show and the game.

Check out his reaction in the tweet below.

Neither of these programs are traditional blue-bloods in college football. But both teams find themselves ranked in the AP Top 25.

The Memphis Tigers check in at No. 24 in the latest edition of the AP Poll. The Tigers are 7-1 this season with notable wins over Navy and Ole Miss. Their lone loss came against Temple earlier this month.

SMU remains one of the nine undefeated teams in college football at this point in the season. The Mustangs are 8-0, good for 15th in the AP Top 25, with impressive victories over Temple, TCU and Houston.

Both SMU and Memphis play in the American West Division of the American Athletic Conference. The Mustangs currently hold the division lead, but Memphis is just one game behind.

The winner of Saturday's game will be in the driver's seat to play in the conference title game.
