Here's How Much Money Charlie Strong Will Make At USF

Charlie Strong will be officially introduced as USF's head coach later this week.

Charlie Strong's contract details with the university are already being published.

Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times has the full details. As you will see, Strong's new five-year, $9.8 million deal is rather heavily backloaded, likely due to the structure of the Texas buyout he'll be receiving.

Strong's deal with UT goes through January 2019.

So, Texas is being forced to pay Strong $8 million over the next two years, as they have to make up the difference between his contract with the Longhorns and his new contract with South Florida. By backloading his contract, South Florida ensures Texas has to pay Strong a lot of money.

According to Knight, Strong would also receive a $50,000 bonus if he leads the Bulls to an American Athletic Conference championship.

This is a reasonable goal for Strong, who nearly won the AAC in 2013 at Louisville and did take home the Big East title the year before.
