Update: Skip Holtz Accepts Head Coaching Job At Louisiana Tech

Will he accept?

**Update: Holtz has verbally accepted the job, per The News-Star. He takes over a squad that went 9-3 this past season.

Scoop: Skip Holtz has been offered a head coaching position at Louisiana Tech, according to Matt Moscona of ESPN Radio.

Significance: Skip, son of coaching legend Lou Holtz, was recently fired by the University of South Florida after going 16-21 in his three seasons coaching the Bulls, and could be a candidate for several coaching positions.

Story: Louisiana Tech needs a new head coach after Sonny Dykes departed following this season (despite La Tech's 9-3 record, they were not selected for a bowl game) to take a job at the University of California. Skip gets a second chance at a head coaching gig after a lukewarm start in the Big East, if he wants it.
