UCF quarterback McKenzie Milton has been one of the best players in the country over the last two years, and has UCF on pace for a second straight undefeated season.

During last night's rivalry game against South Florida, he suffered one of the most gruesome leg injuries we've seen in some time.

McKenzie ran right on an option play, and was hit awkwardly, resulting in a very nasty scene on the field.

Video, for those who choose to watch:

After the game, a UCF win, it was reported that Milton had suffered a dislocated knee that cut off blood circulation. The hospital has been pretty quiet on the details though.

Now, it is being reported that McKenzie Milton underwent surgery to stabilize the knee after the injury.

From ESPN's Andrea Adelson:

Our thoughts continue to go out to Milton. He is a pleasure to watch, and we hope to see him back on a football field soon.
