UCF came oh-so-close to pulling off a monumental upset this afternoon. The Knights fell one point short against No. 1 seed Duke, losing 77-76.

There isn't much consolation after a loss like this in the NCAA Tournament. UCF will be thinking 'what if' for a while.

At least they can know they left a major impression on NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Abdul-Jabbar posted a picture of himself with UCF big man Tacko Fall and head coach Johnny Dawkins on Twitter tonight, along with a heartfelt message.

"Unbelievable game @UCF_MBB vs @DukeMBB The Knights left everything on the floor- they should be very proud ! Sending my utmost respect to @tackofall99 @Coach_Dawkins and Aubrey Dawkins you should be proud of what you just accomplished!!!! Best game of the tourney so far!" he wrote.

Not only did UCF take the top overall seed to the absolute brink, but the team equaled the program record for wins in a season with 24.

They also won the first NCAA Tournament game in program history. UCF was one-and-done in its previous four tourney appearances.

As Abdul-Jabbar said, UCF should hold its head up high.
