The UCF Knights have had plenty of reasons to brag over the past year, but now boast a very impressive stat that can back up some of the hype.

UCF now holds the distinction of having the longest active winning streak in all of college football with 25-straight wins.

Up until yesterday, that distinction was owned by the Mount Union Purple Raiders of Division III with a 29-game winning streak.

But on Friday, the Purple Raiders lost in the Division III Championship Game to the Mary Hardin-Baylor high school.

The Knights went 13-0 in 2017, but were not given a spot in the College Football Playoff after winning the AAC conference title as the only undefeated team in the nation.

The team declared themselves national champions after beating No. 7 Auburn in the Peach Bowl.

The 2018 season saw more of the same, as UCF once again went undefeated in the regular season and were pitted against an SEC powerhouse - No. 7 LSU - in the upcoming Fiesta Bowl.
