A freshman linebacker for UCF was arrested yesterday, according to reports. He is facing a charge of sexual battery.

First-year player Demetreius Mayes, a Miami native, was arrested by campus police on Tuesday. The charge he faces stems from an alleged incident at an off-campus party on Saturday.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Mayes is accused of forcing himself on an unconscious woman.

Police said Demetreius Mayes, 18, met the victim at an off-campus party Saturday. The victim described waking up later, undressed in a room on campus, while being penetrated by Mayes, according to an arrest affidavit.

When the victim stood up to leave, the victim said Mayes blocked the door, according to the affidavit.

Mayes apparently told police the victim consented to sex and stopped when the victim said "I can't do this."

A former three-star recruit, Mayes has been suspended from team activities indefinitely, according to a statement from UCF head coach Josh Heupel.

Obviously, the accusation Mayes is facing doesn't sound good. We'll keep you posted though as more details emerge.

No. 16 UCF is set to host FAU this weekend.
