Boston College Basketball Player Has The Saddest Quote You'll Ever Read After ACC Tournament Loss

Update: Here's video of Clifford's answer, via the ACC Digital Network. It's heartbreaking to watch.

Earlier: This was a season to forget for Boston College men's basketball. After today's 88-66 loss in the opening round of the ACC Tournament, the Eagles finished the year at 7-26, with an 0-19 record against conference opponents. Going through a year like that can't be easy, and a heartbreaking quote from senior Dennis Clifford confirms it. From the Associate Press:

Against Florida State, Boston College senior center Dennis Clifford had 15 points and nine rebounds before fouling out with 9 1/2 minutes left. Right then, BC's deficit was somewhat manageable, at 65-56, but quickly climbed back up to 15 points.

Afterward, Clifford was asked what his best memory of playing college basketball will be. He choked up and put his head down, pausing for more than 20 seconds. When he looked back up, his face was red, his eyes were welling.

His answer: "Going out to eat."

Nothing quite sums up this Boston College season like that.
