The Clemson Tigers have never faced the UConn Huskies on the football field, but they are scheduled to face off for the first time in 2021. However, a recent change is poised to delay the first-time meeting between the two schools.

The UConn Huskies football website recently updated to indicate that their game against Clemson has been moved from September 11, 2021 to November 13, 2021.

The change was made to accommodate UConn's addition of the Purdue Boilermakers to the team's 2021 schedule. UConn is now scheduled to take on Purdue on September 11th instead.

The Clemson Tigers have not yet updated their own schedule, so it is unknown at this time if the team will be playing a different opponent or have an early bye.

According to FBSchedules, Clemson has a full schedule for the 2021 season: UConn, Wyoming, FCS school South Carolina State, and rival South Carolina.

The South Carolina State does not yet have a date, per the site, so that could slide into the new Sept. 11 opening, as could an ACC match-up.

Next year the Tigers are slated to play Texas A&M, Wofford, Charlotte, and South Carolina.
