Clemson Football Receives NCAA Waiver To Exceed 20 Hour Practice Limitation

Because of its academic schedule, Clemson was going to be at disadvantage when it comes to available practice time ahead of Monday night's national championship game. Because Clemson is in session on January 11, and Alabama doesn't start until January 13—two days after the game—the Crimson Tide were going to be allowed unlimited practice time while Clemson would be limited to 20 hours. Head coach Dabo Swinney didn't seem phased by the rule, but the NCAA has still stepped in to help level the playing field for the Tigers.

No-brainer decisions like this are not commonplace in college sports, so kudos to the NCAA for helping close the gap here a bit.
