Dabo Swinney showed a great deal of class on Friday night.
No. 2 Clemson’s College Football Playoff chances took a major hit Friday night, as the Tigers lost to unranked Syracuse on the road, 27-24. But head coach Dabo Swinney is still being lauded for a few decisions he made – at least in the aftermath.
Two, in particular.
Immediately after the final buzzer sounded, Swinney congratulated Syracuse head coach Dino Babers at midfield. His words? “I’m so happy for you, y’all deserve this.”

Afterwards, Swinney found his way to Syracuse’s locker room, where he praised a few players and spoke to the team, congratulating them.

Clemson fans are likely an upset bunch on Saturday morning, but at least they know their coaching staff handled the loss with class. Remember, too – the Tigers lost to a middle-of-the-road ACC team last year and still won the national title. We’ll see if they can rebound in similar fashion this year.
