Clemson is going to be good next year on defense.

College football season ended last week, but one rivalry still appears to be in mid-season form. Clemson fans got some solid news regarding their program on Saturday, and South Carolina supporters are a bit upset about it.

Saturday, at a team banquet, Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney revealed that four of his team's defensive stars - Clelin Ferrell, Austin Bryant, Kendall Joseph and Mark Fields - will return for another year.

Ferrell, a defensive end, is considered a first-round talent. It's a surprising decision, to say the least.

Swinney did not update fans on the status of defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. He is perhaps Clemson's biggest question mark when it comes to the NFL Draft.

Clemson football's SID Tim Bourret dropped the news for the masses.

It won't surprise you to hear that fans of Clemson's in-state rival, South Carolina, had a few things to say about the fact that the Tigers will be getting back a huge portion of their defense.

It led to some interesting back-and-forth.

Clemson's defense was the top-ranked in college football this past season. It doesn't look like they're going to fall off in 2018 either.
