Dabo Swinney On Poor Half For Clemson At Wake Forest: "Give Them The Ball On The 10 And Wilson Junior High Can Score"

Few fans probably predicted a 34 total point first half in Clemson at Wake Forest tonight. Fewer, even, would have had the struggling Demon Deacons tied with the Tigers at the half. Of course, that is exactly the situation in Winston-Salem, and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is not happy.

Wake Forest's touchdowns came after a Cole Stoudt interception, which gave the Deacs the ball at the CU 43, and a muffed punt by Adam Humphries, which was recovered by Wake Forest at the CU 13. To be fair, Clemson scored a touchdown three plays after a bizarre play on which Wake punter Alexander Kinal accidentally touched his knee down on a low snap, resulting in a 13 yard loss, and Clemson ball at the Wake 23. The big mistakes leading to advantageous field position for the other team have gone both ways.

Wake fans probably won't take the comparison to a junior high team too well either, especially when they're tied with a team that entered as a 20 point favorite.
