5-Star RB Demarkcus Bowman Impressed With Clemson After Visit

Head coach Dabo Swinney and players celebrate winning the national title.

Running back Demarkcus Bowman was one of the recruits at Clemson's Junior Day, which yielded the Tigers a pair of 2020 commits so far.

He isn't one of them, but he did come away very interested in what the national champions have to offer.

Bowman received an offer over the weekend, and revealed that the Tigers would be in his top schools group, if he was to make one today.

The five-star recruit already holds offers from programs including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and others.

The Lakeland (Fla.) star is a five-star player, and the No. 32 overall 2020 recruit. 247Sports' composite rankings have him at No. 5 among running backs and No. 3 in the Sunshine State.

Bowman's junior year stats are ridiculous; he ran for 2,417 yards and 36 touchdowns this fall, averaging 11.8 yards per carry.

Demarkcus Bowman spoke to TigerNet about the Clemson visit and offer from Dabo Swinney.

From the Clemson site:

"They are definitely in my top six if I had one. It's just the school, the coaches, and the staff has all been together for eight years or more. They are not the type to offer just anyone. They like to know that you really want to come there before you come there. They don't have many transfer or decommits. They are legit. I really like Coach (Tony) Elliott and Coach Swinney."

All five predictions at 247's crystal ball have Bowman eventually giving his pledge to Florida, but obviously it is very early in this cycle.
