If Deshaun Watson slips to the late first round, he may have a suitor in one NFL playoff contender: the Houston Texans.
According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, Watson had an "overwhelmingly positive" meeting with the Texans, a team that is both built to win and needs a quarterback in the worst way.
With the way this quarterback class looks, there is a chance that Watson lasts that long (or that the Texans could make a leap up from No. 25). While he has commonly been considered one of the top two quarterbacks in the Draft, along with fellow ACC gunslinger Mitchell Trubisky, the entire position could see a slide. Other prospects like Patrick Mahomes, Davis Webb, and even Josh Dobbs have been discussed as potential first round guys as well.
The Texans already have one Clemson great on offense, with star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. After last year's debacle at quarterback, Texan fans would probably welcome the 2017 National Championship-winner behind center.
