Earlier this week, Clemson football star Hunter Renfrow made an interesting comment about Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide after Clemson’s win over Alabama in the title game on Monday night.
Renfrow took a jab at Saban and appeared to suggest some illicit activity going on with the Alabama program.
Here’s what he said at the time:
“Coach Swinney has built it on fun, and obviously Coach Saban has built it on a process. I’m just so proud of being at a place like Clemson, where I feel like we’ve done it the right way. If we’re supposed to have only five guys on the field as coaches, we’re making sure we have five. We’re not doing it the wrong way and we’re having fun doing it.”
Renfrow’s comments came across as a direct attack at the legality of the practices run in the Alabama football program. It didn’t take long for Renfrow to realize how his comments came across and offered an apology on Twitter.
“No disrespect to Alabama. I was just trying to applaud Coach Swinney for the way he runs things and doing it the right way. Quote totally taken out of context,” Renfrow said on Twitter.

Alabama and Clemson are the premier programs in college football – a little added fuel to the fire should make for an exciting rivalry moving forward.
