Clemson Tigers five-star freshman quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei is set to make his first career start on Saturday afternoon.

Dabo Swinney's program is without superstar quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who tested positive for COVID-19. Lawrence will miss today's game against Boston College and, potentially, next week's game against Notre Dame.

Uiagalelei is set to take his place under center. The former five-star quarterback recruit should be ready for this opportunity, according to ESPN's Kirk Herbstreit.

“He has everything,” Herbstreit said of the young quarterback on SportsCenter. "I remember when Deshaun Watson was there, I remember talking to Dabo Swinney about this recruit, Trevor Lawrence. He said he’d be capable of being as physical and good, if not better, than Deshaun. And watching Trevor, he said wait until you see this guy DJ. He can make every throw.

"Coaches told me this week he’s a gym rat and committed to learning. He can run it. You’ll see him run it very physically. And he makes great decisions. The only thing he doesn’t have is real game reps. I’m probably more excited to each Clemson play this game now than I would’ve been if Lawrence was there and it was business as usual. This game becomes must-see TV and I can’t wait to get a chance to see No. 5 run that offense."

Clemson and Boston College are set to kick off at noon E.T.

The game will be on ABC.
