Lane Kiffin isn’t one to keep his opinions to himself, and although the college football season is over, the head coach of Florida Atlantic gave the sports world another interesting message to dissect.
Once the national championship went final between Clemson and Alabama, an old take from ESPN went viral.
The opinion piece from ESPN criticized Clemson’s decision to hire Dabo Swinney. After all, it was a risky decision to promote the wide receivers coach to the lead position.
Fast forward to 2019 and Clemson is undeniably one of the best programs in the entire country.
Swinney has won two national titles, several coaching awards and has turned the Tigers into the team to beat in the ACC.
Now that Swinney is being considered as one of the top coaches in all of football, Kiffin decided to poke some fun on Twitter. In a short but subtle message to ESPN, he laughed at the article that bashed Clemson’s coaching hire in 2008.
Here is the tweet:

Kiffin isn’t afraid to make bold statements or receive backlash from his critics. Nonetheless, it’s hard to imagine that fans will get angry over him simply trolling another media outlet.
Besides, Kiffin probably didn’t mind watching the Crimson Tide fall short in the biggest game of season.
