Daniel Rodriguez, who played wide receiver at Clemson from 2012-14, may have been the country's most popular walk-on during his playing career. Rodriguez joined the Clemson team after doing two tours in Afghanistan in Iraq and earning a Purple Heart after being injured in the Battle of Kamdesh in 2009. His inspirational story became well known after he scored his first career touchdown for the Tigers on Military Appreciation Day in 2013 against The Citadel.

Rodriguez recorded a message for the Tigers, which was published by FOX Sports.

According to his Twitter account, he is in Arizona for tonight's game.
