The Independence Bowl is live and underway in Louisiana, as the Temple Owls battle the Duke Blue Devils. Although the matchup alone is intriguing, one team’s uniform is earning all the attention on social media.
It’s becoming very apparent that fans aren’t fond of Temple’s gray and black combo for this afternoon. While it certainly represents the university’s color scheme, the consensus around Twitter is that the football program should lock these up in the closet after the bowl game is over.
Here is the uniform the Owls chose for today:

As always, college football viewers didn’t hold back their opinion.
Honestly, I’d send the entire Temple team off for an equipment violation because of these uniforms.

On the bright side though, Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports just gave Manny Diaz the perfect blueprint to becoming an instant hero for Temple.
Manny Diaz’s first move at Temple should be to burn these uniforms.

Despite the endless criticism toward its new uniforms, Temple leads 13-7 over Duke in the first quarter. All it took was a pick-six from Delvon Randall to give the Owls the early advantage.
The game is available on ESPN.
