This week will be jam-packed with nonstop college hoops since all the major conference tournaments are just about set to tip off. Before the tournaments begin, CBS Sports predicted which programs will emerge as conference champions.
When it comes to the ACC Tournament, there are several teams that could be viewed as favorites. Duke has found its rhythm, Florida State has been so consistent, Louisville is loaded with talent and Virginia has that championship pedigree you want in March.
Even though Duke isn’t as loaded as it’s been in years past, the Blue Devils have more than enough firepower to win a conference tournament. Cassius Stanley, Tre Jones and Vernon Carey form one of the best trios in college basketball.
Duke won the 2019 ACC Tournament in large part because of RJ Barrett and Zion Williamson. It’ll be tough for Coach K to lead the team to back-to-back conference titles, but four out of six college basketball experts from CBS Sports believe it’ll happen.
Here’s a few ACC Tournament predictions from several CBS Sports experts:
Gary Parrish – Duke
Matt Norlander – Duke
Jerry Palm – Duke
Kyle Boone – Virginia
Chip Patterson -Florida State
David Cobb – Duke
Only two experts went in a different direction, as Boone went with Virginia and Patterson went with Florida State. Both programs could certainly knock off Duke or any other team in the ACC.
The first round of the ACC Tournament will begin this afternoon, when Pittsburgh takes on Wake Forest.
