The Duke Blue Devils were able to top Virginia even without the services of star freshman Tre Jones due to injury. But if the latest injury report is any indication, they may need to keep up the momentum without him for a little while longer.
Meeting with reporters today, Coach K called Jones "doubtful" for Duke's Tuesday night game against Pitt.
"He's not going to play unless something miraculous happens," he said, according to Herald Sun reporter Stephen Wiseman.
Coach K did note that Jones was making progress on the shoulder injury he suffered against Syracuse last week.
A five-star freshman alongside R.J. Barrett, Zion Williamson, and Cam Reddish, Jones has been an impact player for the Blue Devils this year.
He has led the team in assists in 10 games this season.
On the season, Jones leads the Blue Devils in assists per game (5.7) and steals per game (2.1), and is second behind R.J. Barrett in minutes played per game (29.3).
After Jones was injured in the game against the Orange, the Blue Devils were ultimately upset at home in a 95-91 loss.
But they recovered quickly a few days later with a win over previously undefeated Virginia on Saturday, winning 72-70 without Jones' services.
