Zion Williamson spent just one season at Duke, but the five-star forward made quite an impact in Durham during 2018-19. He's one of the most-popular Blue Devils players of all-time and, despite the disappointing NCAA Tournament finish, remains a fan favorite.

The probable No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft sported the No. 1 jersey during his time with the Blue Devils.

A new Duke player will be wearing that number in 2019-20.

Duke announced tonight that freshman big man Vernon Carey Jr. will get the No. 1 jersey for the upcoming season.

Carey, a 6-foot-10 center, is ranked the No. 3 player at his position and the No. 6 overall prospect in the class per 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Duke's 2019 class ranks No. 4 in the country.
