Duke Freshman Marques Bolden Sustains Lower Leg Injury, Will Be Re-Evaluated After Weekend

Another heralded Duke freshman has suffered a preseason injury.

Big man Marques Bolden injured his left lower-leg, the program announced this afternoon. Bolden is the third Duke frosh to get injured this fall, joining Harry Giles and Jayson Tatum.

It is unclear the severity of Bolden's injury, but if he is to be re-evaluated after the weekend, he will have to miss the team's first two games. The Blue Devils host Marist on Friday and Grand Canyon on Saturday.

A five-star recruit, Bolden is expected to be a major contributor for Duke, along with Giles, Tatum and another freshman, guard Frank Jackson.

Tatum, who suffered a sprained foot, is expected to be ready for Friday's opener. Giles, meanwhile, should debut later this month, according to Mike Krzyzewski.
