Duke Star Grayson Allen Leaves Game vs. Kansas With Injury

Grayson Allen injury update: the Blue Devils star guard left tonight's game against Kansas with an injury late in the first half.

The uber-talented Blue Devils have been crushed with injuries early this season, with star freshmen Marques Bolden, Harry Giles, and Jayson Tatum all out at the moment. Now, guard Grayson Allen has gone down with an injury at Madison Square Garden.

The Duke star guard and national player of the year candidate took a hard fall and limped off the court.

Duke clings to a 34-29 lead at the break from Manhattan, but things could be a real struggle if Allen can't go in the second half. He had five points on just 1-of-7 shooting in the first half, but Duke has played just six players tonight, with Allen, Matt Jones, Luke Kennard, Chase Jeter, and Amile Jefferson starting, and freshman guard Frank Jackson coming off the bench. Jefferson leads the way for Duke with 11 points.

Kansas, for comparison, has had nine players check in. Guard Devonte' Graham leads the Jayhawks with nine points, and the backcourt of Graham, Frank Mason III, and Josh Jackson could be very difficult for a depleted Duke backcourt to deal with in the second half.

We'll keep you updated as more comes out about Allen's status.

Update: Allen was the last player out of the locker room, but he appears to be okay, and is playing in the second half.

The second half is underway at MSG.
