Here’s What ESPN’s Matchup Predictor Says For Duke vs. Syracuse

This Friday, Duke will take on Syracuse in the Sweet 16. Let’s see what ESPN’s Matchup Predictor has to say about it.

Duke, the 2-seed in the Midwest Region, will continue its NCAA Tournament run this Friday night against 11-seed Syracuse. The Blue Devils enter with a 28-7 record, while the Orange boast a 23-13 mark.

Duke reached the Sweet 16 by knocking off Iona and Rhode Island. Syracuse has taken down Arizona State, TCU, and Michigan State.

Most sports books have Duke as an 11.5-point favorite, per OddsSharkESPN says there is a 89.4-percent chance that the Blue Devils prevail – meaning the Orange have a 10.6-percent chance of winning.

This Sweet 16 battle will be a match-up of 2-3 zone teams. Jim Boeheim has long-utilized the defense, and it has stifled teams this March, while his Team USA boss Mike Krzyzewski has employed it more in recent years, and is now using it as his primary defense this season, to very good affect.

Duke and Syracuse will meet Friday night at 9:37 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
