La Lumiere star Isaiah Stewart has been down to the same five schools for a while now.
The recruitment is a packed with big-time programs... and one dangerous wild card.
Stewart is considering Duke, Kentucky, Michigan State, Syracuse and Washington.
The Blue Devils and Wildcats are the two preeminent recruiting powers in the country, Michigan State is a storied program that has been after him very hard, and Syracuse is the local college hoops power for the Rochester, NY native.
And then there is the Washington Huskies.
UW hired former top Syracuse assistant and Jim Boeheim heir apparent Mike Hopkins last year. He built a strong relationship with Stewart while coaching the Orange, and kept it going after taking over his own major program.
It is looking more and more like Mike Hopkins will seal the deal and land Isaiah Stewart in the class of 2019.
A few weeks ago, at 247Sports' crystal ball, Michigan State had 44-percent of the predictions for Stewart, the highest of any team.
Now, Washington has taken over as the favorite with that same mark. 247's recruiting director Evan Daniels is among those to log a new UW prediction.
He addressed the pick in a recent mailbag column:
"In terms of Isaiah Stewart, it seems like he’s been close to making a decision for a long time. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see it happen in the very near future. There’s been a lot of talk lately about Washington regarding Stewart. That seems to be where everyone thinks he’s going. I think that Michigan State and Duke are the other primary schools."
Stewart is the No. 6 overall player in the country, and the third-ranked center.
