The Jayson Tatum injury update has been released.
Duke fans can exhale. Talented freshman forward Jayson Tatum, who injured his left foot yesterday, has been diagnosed with a foot sprain.
According to a release from the program, Tatum is only projected to miss two weeks. He will sit out the team's two exhibition games but seemingly will be back for the season opener against Marist on Nov. 11.
Clearly, this is good news for Duke. The Blue Devils are already without another talented frosh, power forward Harry Giles. Giles, who has had multiple ACL tears in the past, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in early October. He is likely out for the first few games.
Tatum is a projected lottery pick in next year's NBA Draft, should he leave school early. While he is in Durham, he's expected to be a major piece for a Duke team that is the odds-on favorite to cut down the nets in April.
