Tomorrow night, Zion Williamson will hear his name called as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. The one-and-done Duke star is headed to New Orleans to play for the Pelicans.
From a marketing perspective, Zion is a generational prospect, the most hyped rookie entering the league since LeBron. On the court, his game is unique. Whether you think he will be a transcendent star or just a productive pro, you have to admit he is a different type of player.
ESPN's Mike Schmitz and Kirk Goldsberry attempted to find player comparisons for Williamson leading up to tomorrow's draft. It was impossible to liken him to only one guy, so the duo found an analogous player for five of Williamson's best traits.
For example, Zion's motor/rebounding evoked memories of Charles Barkley while his defensive versatility drew comparisons to Draymond Green.

The 2019 NBA Draft will begin tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. ESPN will televise the proceedings.
In addition to Williamson going No. 1, Duke's R.J. Barrett is expected to go No. 3 to the New York Knicks, with teammate Cam Reddish being selected at some point in the lottery as well.
