Story: Carolina had its six-game winning streak snapped by a well-rounded Duke team. Both teams had already locked up the third and second seeds, respectively, in the ACC Tournament but major bragging rights were on the line in one of the biggest rivalries in sports. Everyone on the Tar Heels struggled to find their rhythm, including leading scorer James Michael McAdoo who led the team with 15 points on 6-14 shooting. Duke's two most reliable options, Mason Plumlee and Seth Curry, played exceptionally well, scoring 23 and 20 points respectively.

The Blue Devils came out on fire, starting on a 14-0 run. Most notably, Seth Curry started 7-7 from the field and had 18 huge first half points. UNC only shot 27.3% in the first half, compared to Duke's red hot 69.2%. Sadly, for Carolina fans, the second half didn't offer much encouragement. Duke kept its stranglehold on the game, and never let UNC get within single digits. The Tar Heels usually rely heavily on the three-ball, but were only able to manage 1-14 shooting from behind the arc for the game, with the lone make coming with five minutes left in the game. UNC finished the game shooting 33.9% whereas the Blue Devils finished with a strong 55.1%.

UNC finishes the season 12-6 in the ACC while Duke finishes at 14-4 in conference play and 27-4 overall.

Carolina hopes for a rematch next Saturday if both the Heels and the Blue Devils can beat their first opponents in the ACC Tournament.
