If the Duke Blue Devils are going to make a run to the Final Four this season, they'll need Trevor Keels at his best.

Earlier this year, Keels suffered a calf injury. He missed some time, but he managed to return to 100 percent just in time for the most important stretch of the season.

Overall, Keels is averaging 12.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game as a freshman for the Blue Devils.

We caught up with Trevor Keels to discuss how Therabody plays a role in his recovery, his first year at Duke and much more.

This interview is presented by Therabody.

The Spun: You missed some time this season with a calf injury. How much did Therabody help with your recovery process?

Trevor Keels: Therabody has been there through each stage of the recovery process. During the early days of the injury, my trainer would use Theragun on my calf to get it loosened up before and after any physical movement. Fast forward to my first game back from injury, my legs were shocked because of the time I had to take off to heal. RecoveryAir was a huge help in getting my legs recovered so I could increase my strength and get back playing the minutes I was used to playing before the strain. I use RecoveryAir every day; that's probably my favorite Therabody product. I use JetBoots 30 minutes before I go to sleep every night to help get a little massage in. They also help me loosen up in the morning so I’m not tight before I start a workout.

The Spun: How did your partnership with Therabody come about?

TK: Partnering with Therabody is a huge opportunity for me. I had been using and loving their range of products before they approached me about a partnership, so it was an easy choice for me to become a Therabody Athlete. They have so many recovery options that help me and my teammates perform my best on the court. Everything from RecoveryAir to the Theragun PRO, it all helps before, during, and after games. I’m proud to be a Therabody Athlete.

The Spun: Has your first season with the Blue Devils lived up to your expectations?

TK: It absolutely has lived up to my expectations. It’s been amazing to be around such a great group of guys on and off the court. The chemistry we have as a team is unmatched. It’s been a really special year.

The Spun: What’s it like playing for Coach K knowing it’s his final season at Duke?

TK: It’s been really special. Coach K is a legend and I’m so happy that I’ve had the opportunity to grow my game with his guidance, and I know my teammates feel the same. I’ve never been around someone who understands the game of basketball as well as him, so it’s been an honor to learn from him during his final season.

The Spun: You had a great performance against Pitt - 27 points. How do you feel heading into the tournament from a confidence standpoint?

TK: I’m excited. I feel confident in myself heading into this tournament but I also feel confident in my teammates. We understand that this tournament isn’t going to be easy, but we’re fully focused on doing what it takes to be successful.

The Spun: How does the team kind of manage expectations heading into the NCAA tournament?

TK: We’re not trying to be anything different. We know our style of basketball works, so we’re heading into the tournament just being who we are and helping each other on the court. Personally, I’m going to continue to stay in Keel Mode and utilize my instincts the best that I can.

Keels and the Blue Devils will be in action this Thursday against the Syracuse Orange.

The pressure will be on Duke to win a national title in Coach K's final season, but it sounds like the team is up for the challenge.
