Knicks fans were hoping to land Zion Williamson with the No. 1 overall pick this year. Instead, they picked third and wound up choosing Williamson's close friend and Duke teammate RJ Barrett.
But what about the possibility of them having both guys at some point? Well, it could happen, and Barrett says he's going to try to make it reality.
Appearing on The Michael Kay Show today, Barrett expressed the desire to play with Williamson in the future, and in New York to boot.
"Hopefully, one day we'll be on the same team," Barrett said. "That's my brother, I'll try and recruit him over."
Now, deep breaths Knicks fans. If this even happened, it would have to be in a few years when Williamson is eligible for free agency.
So much can change between now and then, and we've seen how dreaming on free agent signings has backfired royally for Knicks fans over the years.
Still, it doesn't hurt to hope just a little for this scenario to play out.
